doc : the hydrogen car

sources : bertrand piccard, president of the solar impulse foundation - his website

in this text , B.P said that he covered 778 kilometers in 2 days , in his hydrogen
car emitting nothing more than water vapor

 just one full tank (1 seul reservoir plein)

very good capacity !

 world record for a clean mobility

 he proved to the whole world that now you can move/drive w hydrogen power
how does it work? : Hydrogen fuel cells produce electricity by combining
hydrogen and oxygen atoms. The hydrogen reacts with oxygen across an
electrochemical cell similar to that of a battery to produce electricity, water, and small
amounts of heat.

 not everyone want use hydrogen car, some people want battery-driven electric
vehicles to retain a monopoly on clean mobility
why ? : electricity is the better solution to decarbonize our transports
a kind of war between hydrogen car and electric ones
do not forget that electric cars aren’t totally emission. free, theirs batteries pollut a lot
because they are made w lithium

 oil companies can be involved in the manufacture, transportation, distribution

and sale of hydrogen
creat jobs
 advantages :
short refueling time for hydrogen vehicles - only a few minutes are needed

 disadvantage:
number of refueling stations (low in california, japan france), the transport of the gas,
and the price of the vehicles.
in a few years if everything is good and if the government do everything to Make it
works, everyone could have the choice !

 why eco-friendly sources of energy are a key issue regarding climate change.

Renewable energy sources – which are available in abundance all around us, provided
by the sun, wind, water, waste, and heat from the Earth – are replenished quickly by
nature and emit little to no greenhouse gases or pollutants into the air. = no
pollution or a bit = fight again climate change
climate change = Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and
weather patterns such as global warming: (temp increase) = ice melt, sea level is
rising, drought…

greenhouse gases = a gas that contributes to the greenhouse effect by absorbing

infrared radiation. Carbon dioxide and chlorofluorocarbons are examples of
greenhouse gases.

greenhouse effect = the trapping of the sun's warmth in a planet's lower atmosphere,
due to the greater transparency of the atmosphere to visible radiation from the sun than
to infrared radiation emitted from the planet's surface

 why hydrogen is a sustainable solution- economically, environmentally and

socially - that can help with the development of energy mix and renewable
energies.

 economically :
 Hydrogen today is being used in many things, from commercial applications,
welding metal to dying fabrics to making electronics, plastics and fertilizers.
 environmentally
 Hydrogen has unique features as a zero emissions fuel
 hydrogen is easy to store
 socially
 It holds promise for a better world, to fight against climate change, global
warming etc

 Cl:
 hydrogen is a sustainable solution for the futur, we only have to wait until the
government accept to develop it, the cost of buying and recharging vehicles has
to fall dramatically etc..
 and after it everyone could choose what kind of véhicule is the best
