Objective: The objective of this assignment is to analyze and propose the budget allocation for shelter homes (Dar Ul
Amans) in Punjab based on the number of residents and their duration of stay.

Background: The government of Punjab has allocated funds for Dar Ul Amans to provide temporary housing and
support to women individuals in need, particularly victims of gender based violence. As part of a research initiative,
data has been collected on the number of residents in each shelter home for the past year for each quarter, along
with quantiles of stay duration for each resident.

Budget Calculation:

● Assume that the government provides a budget of 400 rupees per day for each resident in the shelter
homes.
● Calculate the total budget allocated for your shelter home for each quarter based on the number of
residents and their quartiles of stay duration such that:

1. For every quarter, find the proportions of the residents i.e. 25%, 50%, 75%, 90%.
2. For the first 25% you will multiply number of residents with the Q1_Stay (25%) and 400 rupees.
3. For the next 25%(50% of the residents – 25% of the residents) you will multiply number of residents
with the Q2_Stay (50%) and 400 rupees and so on.
4. Sum the values. This will be the budget for the 1st quarter (Jan-Mar)
5. Repeat the steps for each quarter.

● Summarize the total budget column for the shelter homes of Punjab for the whole year.

Note: Assume you have 30 days in a month
