12. Course Description (Module Specification):


The course utilizes mathematical operations to solve practical business problems. The
topics include solving equations, percents with applications, cash and trade discounts,
markups and markdowns, simple interest, compound interest, payroll, annuities and
installment buying.

13. Course Aims / Objectives:


This course will provide the student with a rapid review of basic mathematics, addition,
subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percents and algebraic equations. The
objective of this review is to improve speed and accuracy. Providing the student with a
comprehensive knowledge of the ways to solve various business problems using the
formula and algebraic approach will be another objective. Together, these objectives will
allow the student to use the techniques learned to solve personal and business math
problems.
