In order for Rainbow Fish to find the answers he
seeks, Starfish points him in the direction of a cave
inhabited by a knowledgeable octopus.
Rainbow Fish is instructed to share some of his scales
with the octopus when he gets to his lair. Rainbow
Fish found this advise to be challenging because
sharing his scales, which he valued much, would be
quite tough. Rainbow Fish understood, though, that
sharing was a necessary skill if he desired friends.
A blue fish approaches Rainbow Fish once more after
emerging from the octopus's cave, requesting one of
his glossy scales. Rainbow Fish gives blue fish one of
his special scales, however he finds it hard to share.
When Rainbow Fish notices the blue fish's joy at
possessing one of her unique scales, Rainbow herself
gets ecstatic! Rainbow Fish creates happiness for
himself and the other fish by sharing a scale with
many other fish.
