BAR COUNCIL OF MAHARASHTRA AND GOA

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SANAD VERIFICATION PROCESS

ADVOCATES ENROLLED PRIOR TO DECEMBER 1989 ARE NOT REQUIRED TO


APPLY FOR VERIFICATION

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE ADVOCATES WHO HAVE


ALREADY SUBMITTED VERIFICATION FORM PREVIOUSLY i.e. BETWEEN
2015 – 2017.

1. Filing Form A is compulsory for all.


(a) FOR ADVOCATES
2. Documents evidencing of existing practice such as 5 vakalatnama of last 5 years /
cause lists of at least 5 cases mentioning the name of the advocate / 5 copies of the
orders of court mentioning the name of the advocate / affidavit of advocates stating
the case details conducted by him in last 5 years (name of court, name of party, case
number).
(b) NOTARY PUBLIC: Notary Certificate / Renewal Certificate
(c) LAWYERS PRACTICING IN CONVEYANCING: copy of documents registered on
the name of advocates in last 5 years / title search report of last 5 years / public
notice published in the newspaper on behalf of his client of last 5 years.
(d) LAWYERS PRACTICING IN TAXATION: affidavit of advocate stating details of
cases conducted during last 5 years / Returns filed along with Certificate of
concerned Bar Association.
(e) FOR ADVOCATES IN RERA: RERA registration number along with affidavit
mentioning the details of practice of last 5 years.
3. Latest 2 passport size photographs in DRESS CODE with WHITE background.
PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE ADVOCATES WHO HAS NOT
FILED VERIFICATION PREVIOUSLY BETWEEN 2015 – 2017.

1. Filing Form A is compulsory for all.


(a) FOR ADVOCATES

cause lists of at least 5 cases mentioning the name of the advocate / 5 copies of the
orders of court mentioning the name of the advocate / affidavit of advocates stating

(e) FOR ADVOCATES IN RERA: RERA registration number along with affidavit
mentioning the details of practice of last 5 years.
2. LLB degree certificate / Final year marksheet.
3. Sanad (Enrolled Certificate)
4. Latest 2 passport size photographs in DRESS CODE with WHITE background.
5. Processing Fee: Rs. 100/-
6. Additional Fees – (as per choice)
a) Rs. 100/- for those advocates who want a regular ID card and online certificate of
practice.
b) Rs. 400/- for those advocates who want a smart ID card and certificate of practice.
7. Total Fees= processing fee + additional fees
a) Rs. 200/-
b) Rs. 500/-
8. Mode of Payment –
a) By Demand Draft in favour of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa
b) By UPI payment (QR code is given on the application form)
9. Place for submission –
a) For those advocates who are member of the respective Bar Association
situated in the state of Maharashtra and Goa, Diu Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
b) Advocates who are not member of any Bar Association shall submit their
form along with documents and prescribed fees in the office of Bar Council of
Maharashtra and Goa situated at Mumbai / Nagpur / Aurangabad / Panji.
10. Last date of submission is 31.03.2024.

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BY THE LAW FIRMS ADVOCATES

Advocates working with recognized law firm affiliated and recorded with Bar Council of
Maharashtra and Goa shall submit their form in the office of the Bombay Incorporated
Law Society. They have to annexed the certificate from the concerned law firm regarding
their employment / partnership / retainership.

NOTE: Law Firms which are affiliated and recognized by the Bar Council of
Maharashtra and Goa shall be entitled to issued such certificate.

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED FOR THE SUBMISSION OF


DECLARATION
For those advocates enrolled after 01.01.2019 till date.

1. Declaration Form
2. Sanad / ID card of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa
3. Certificate of practicing / AIBE passing certificate / AIBE marksheet (if applicable).
4. Latest 2 passport size photographs in DRESS CODE with WHITE background.
5. Processing Fee Rs.0/-
6. Additional Fees – (as per choice)
(a) Rs. 100/- for those advocates who want a regular ID card and online certificate of
practice.
(b) Rs. 400/- for those advocates who want a smart ID card and certificate of practice.

IT IS MANDATORY TO OBTAIN THE SIGNATURE OF THE OFFICE BEARER OF


CONCERN BAR ASSOCIATION AND BAR COUNCIL MEMBER ON EACH
VERIFICATION AND DECLARATION FORM.
