INTERTEXT

to simplify po the meaning of intertext is basically the interaction between text to another text or the shaping of a text's
meaning by another text. Example po is the reflection paper wherein we put our thoughts and analysis to what we have
read and experienced from the idea or from the other text.

EXAMPLE:

“A Tempest” by Aime Cesaire is an adaptation of “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare. Adaptation itself po explains it
all, kumbaga po ay the original is good but the other one or the inspired book is mas pinaganda or mas better but still
related or maybe still the same.

There are two person who has their own interpretation of intertextuality..the first one po is Julia Kristeva.

INTERTEXTUALITY - Julia Kristeva

It means po na when the readers read a new text, they are always influenced by other texts, na nauna po nilang basahin.
When a writer borrows from other texts while writing his own, he attaches layers of meanings to his work as well. When
that work is read under the light of the others, it gives it a new meaning and interpretation.

INTERTEXTUALITY

(Intertextuality redefines the role of the author in relation to the text) intertextuality also explains us kung ano po ba
yung gusto iparating ng author o kung ano po ba yung naging papel nya sa text.

- Sa intertextuality papasok din po ang LITERARY WORKS dahil nga po sabi dito (The text is not a product of a
single author, but of other texts and structures of language.) because the author not only use his own words and
ideas but at the same time po ay naka kuha po sya ng maraming ideas form other text that built a structures of
language, and made it better than the previous texts that he read.

INTERTEXTUALITY – Roland Barthes

Now let’s move on to the second and last - Roland Barthes

(The power of context creation is removed from the original author, and transferred to the reader. So in essence, the
author diminishes in context interpretation) the idea that is made by the author can or may change, dipende po on how
the reader interpret the text, hindi po natatapos ang idea sa author it is an on going idea po that lies on the readers
mind.

When he says "Allows text to come into being ." in my own understanding a text can be a quote, direction, procedure,
style, organization and situation, that we actually use in our lives, we anylize and understand direction and apply it same
as procedure and so on po.

Barthes’ argument is especially salient in this case because The Descent of Man was written so long ago, and Charles
Darwin is long dead. Darwin and the context in which he wrote his theory have long passed, but the text lives on and will
continue to exist as an independent entity that deserves to be interpreted as such.

INTERTEXTUALITY IS USED IN TEXT DEVELOPMENT

Text development po or yung pag lawak pa o mas better na text.

1. May ga begginers po na authors na gumagamit nan g mga phrases galing sa ibang authors.
2. Parang para-phrasing lang poi to, kumbaga po kukuha po tayo ng idea sa isang text and we’ll make another text
inspired by it and make it a better version.
3. New authors are using this strategy po to avoid plagiarism like gagawa po sila ng same text idea but in a
different point of view and time frame to make the difference but still related.
(INTERTEXTUALITY ALLOWS TEXT TO CAN COME IN DIFFERENT FORMS NOT LIMITED TO WRITTEN LITERATURE.)

Since interaction or relation po ng text ang intertextuality it can come in different forms po, since intertextuality can
come into being pwede po syang hindi written as long as it still give us information, ideas and interpretation. It can
be art transformed from a text since malawak din po talaga ang interpretation natin lalo nap o when it comes to art,
pwedeng magka pareho po ng interpretation sa author or sa artist pwede rin po hindi since magkakaiba po tayo ng
way of thinking kaya po mas unlimited po talaga yung ideas natin when it comes to text that is formed by an art.

EXAMPLE: This Little Red Riding Hood book po na nilagyan ng mga sculptures showing one of the scenarios in the
book, mas muka po syang interesting and mas ka basa-basa dahil sa creative look nito na nagbibigay din po satin ng
idea to make our own interpretation of what is happening.
