Introduction
acoustic materials improve sound INSIDE of a space. They prevent echoes and
unpleasant reverberation while improving the quality of sound that you want to hear.
Building acoustics is an important characteristic in the design, operation, and
construction of building as they have a significant impact on health, well-being, and
satisfaction. Therefore a suitable sound insulation is essential for clean and healthy
living.

acoustic drop ceiling tiles can help absorb sound and reduce echo while also
preventing sound from traveling to adjacent rooms.
2.Spray Foam
A common material for new buildings is spray foam. Spray foam is commonly
referred to as being in a red can with a yellow lid and expands as it dries. In
contemporary construction, spray foam is typically employed in one of two ways.
3. sheet Foam
Styrofoam is commonly used to make sheet foam, but most producers also add
characteristics to the sheets, like a vapor barrier. When a mechanical link to the roof
framework is required, sheet foam is frequently employed in vaulted and cathedral ceiling
designs. The most common methods for installing sheet foam are staples or button cap nails,
but it can also be bonded in place.
3-floors
1. Cork flooring
Cork flooring is a sustainable, comfortable and sound-absorbent flooring option
perfect for many commercial applications. Still, due to its tendency to stain and
indent it is often used as an underlay to provide acoustic insulation
2
Commercial rubber flooring is known for its sound absorbent qualities. More than
that, it is slip-, Mold- and mildew-resistant. It is a great choice for hospitals, schools,
gyms and kitchens looking for a durable acoustic flooring material.

3. Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) flooring
Durable, waterproof and easy to maintain, WPC flooring provides great acoustic
benefits, especially when it comes to mitigating the impact noise such as high foot
traffic. Its acoustic benefits are largely drawn from its backing layer, which not only
provides sound insulation, but also protects against Mold and mildew
.

SAUDI REGULATIONS FOR SOUND PROOFING SYSTEMS
- Saudi Building Code (SBC) 301 - Sound and Vibration Control: Sets minimum noise
transmission and sound absorption requirements for various building types.
- Standards by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS): Define noise
exposure limits for healthcare facilities and patient comfort

Summary
Acoustical materials are used in two major ways: as soundproofing, by which noise
generated from outside a given space is blocked from entering the space; and, as
sound absorbing, where noise generated within a space is reduced inside the space
itself.
Conclusion:
Incorporating acoustic insulation materials into building designs is crucial to tackle
the issue of noise pollution effectively. Along with providing numerous advantages
like noise reduction, improved privacy, and enhanced productivity, these materials
also offer significant energy savings
