Exercise Physiology

Exercise Physiology is the study of the effects of physical activity and exercise on the human body
which includes changes in the cardiovascular, respiratory, and musculoskeletal system.

We are to find out the changes in our vital signs when we are to perform physical activities and record
the changes before, and after the exercise.

INSTRUCTION:
1. While at rest, take your Blood Pressure, Pulse Rate, Respiratory Rate and Oxygen Saturation
level. Record it in the chart.
2. After taking your Vital Signs (BP, PR, RR, Oxygen Saturation) at rest,
perform STEP TEST. Look for a 12-inch elevated platform (or a
similar sized stairs or sturdy box) and step on and off the box for
three minutes. Step up with one foot and then the other. Step
down with one foot followed by the other foot. Try to maintain a
steady four beat cycle. It's easy to maintain if you say "up, up,
down, down". Go at a steady and consistent pace.
3. At the end of three minutes, remain standing while you
immediately check your heart rate.
4. Record yourself in FULL (NO EDIT) minutes or time that you are
doing the STEP TEST.
5. Record your Vital Signs on the CHART provided below and answer the GUIDE QUESTIONS. Cite
your references.
6. Watch the video for proper execution: https://youtu.be/WCFCdxzFBa4
