Final Essay

• final exam take the form of take-home essay questions. The essay
question will be announced a week before the due date. Students
should submit an essay of 5 to 10 pages with double-spacing
(excluding citations). The essay should integrate all the course
materials, e.g., lectures, readings, and discussions to make arguments
with citations in APA format. It should have a thesis or argument,
provide rationale/evidence to support your position, demonstrate
your conceptual thinking and control of information, and be clearly
written.
• It should be an individual endeavor based on one’s own researching,
reasoning, thinking and writing. No discussion or consultation with
others, orally or in the written format, is allowed. Such behaviors,
once reported, will be subject to academic misconduct investigation.
• Comprehensiveness of views, structure, argument quality, critical
thinking ability (your own thoughts) are criteria for grading.
Final exam

1. Before submission, students need to do a self-check of


whether they comply with the guidance of double spacing, 12-
point font, and page limits. I‘ll ask the TA to check the
compliance of the guidelines separately.
2. For each page exceeding the limits, 2 points would be
deducted.
3. Citations need to be in the APA format

• What can you do to ensure the successful implementation of an IT


project in your organization?

• Hint: you can elaborate from multiple perspectives, such as technology,


organization, people, different stages in implementation, or different
dimensions to manage, etc.

• Pick one of the technology topics discussed in this course (e.g.,

• A brief overview of the technology, its pros and cons compared with other
technologies or existing solutions (Use a table for the comparison)
• Factors to consider whether it is a good fit for the organization (e.g., industry,
problem, country, size etc. The evaluation process of the technology)
• Tips for successful implementation(and what typical pitfalls to avoid?)
• Conclusion with your own thoughts (projections, suggestions, evaluations)

• You must cite the source every time you incorporate research, words, ideas, data,
or information that is not your own. This includes any source that contributes,
either directly or indirectly, to your knowledge and understanding of the material
and the formulation of your arguments
• Cite as much as you can, especially the following: textbook for this course,
Powerpoints that I posted (most content should be from the book, but in case it’s
not, cite the PowerPoint; if you don’t have the book, cite the PowerPoint),
required reading by me on Moodle.

Deadline and originality check report
• Use Turnitin from Moodle for originality check and upload the report
together with your essay (the cut-off line is 20% excluding citations)
• Upload the essay to Moodle before Noon, Dec 26th
