A mini guide for A Level Maths independent study:

1. Textbook exercise – Must do ALL exercises.


Must also complete the mixed exercises as they have more problem
solving questions.
2. Physics and Maths tutor – Use Solution bank to check workings and
answer
Maths work MUST be marked to make sure misconceptions are
addressed.
If model answers and mark schemes are not understood check with peer
or teacher.
3. Physics and Maths tutor – topic based exam questions.
4. Maths genie – topic based questions.
5. Dr Frost – full A Level curriculum and questions.
6. Create summary notes to help remember key facts.
Use this every time to be familiar with content and to help recall key
facts.
7. Prep for full exams AS or A Level
Do past papers based on time. 1 minute per mark.
Have ms to check answers along the way.
8. Practice, practice and practice – especially difficult topics.
It’s always easier to practice topics that you are good at and this makes
you stronger on this topic. So get out of comfort zone and attempt
topics that you struggle with and overcome the barrier.
9. Little but often. Can just be 30-40 minutes a day. Make it a habit.
10.Have a GOAL and enjoy the journey. Work with a peer. A Level maths
open doors, lots of doors for your next stage in education.
