Abstract of the Project

The Age of Exploration, also known as the Age of Discovery, was a period of European
exploration and colonization that lasted from the 15th to the 18th century. There was a
prominent economic practice used by these Europeans. Mercantilism, an economic doctrine
prevalent in Europe during this period, emphasized state control of trade and the
accumulation of wealth, particularly in the form of bullion (Gold and silver). In
mercantilism, wealth is viewed as finite and trade as a zero-sum game. Mercantilism was the
prevalent economic system in the Western world from the 16th to the 18th century. The
Practices played an important role for international trade during that period. The project
delves into how mercantilism came into existence. this project aims to provide insights into
the dynamics of mercantilism and its implications for the East India trade. The Projects aims
to cover the conflict between Protectionism and Free trade. The Project also tries to
understand the reasons for the British to begin the prohibition of Indian Textiles.

The project follows the descriptive and explanatory Research Methodology, which helps us
to understand the core concepts in the object of the projects
