the flu, Doctor?

Doctor: Well, let me check your temperature. You do have a high fever. I think it is the flu.

Patient: Can it be treated?

Doctor: I will give you some medicines to reduce your symptoms and you need to sleep more

and drink plenty of water. That will help you feel better.

Doctor: Good morning Nhan. It looks like you're suffering. What happend ?

Patient: I have got a problems when I go to the toilet

Doctor: Do you mean you have a burning pain when urinating.

Patient: Exactly doctor. And I was passing frequently with small amounts of urine

Doctor: It sounds like you might have a urinary tract infection


Patient: What do you call it?

Doctor: A urinary tract infection is an infection in any part of your urinary system.

Patient: What is cause of symptoms?

Doctor: Urinary tract infections occur when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra and
begin to multiply in the bladder.

Patient: Do I need any tests to confirm the diagnosis?

Doctor: Tests used to diagnose urinary tract infections is urinalysis

Patient: What treatment approach do you recommend?

Doctor: Antibiotics usually are the first line treatment for urinary tract infections. And follow the tip:
Drink plenty of water. Now, i will prescribe something to help ease the pain.

9. Describing Frequency:

D. Nurse, Mr. An is a new patient. Let’s review his medications.

C. Okay Doctor. He was admitted to the hospital with serious dehydration, what does he need?

D. For his dehydration he should take glucose 5% through an I.V. He is also needs a 200mg dosage of
steroids. The route of administration was an IM.

C. Sure. And how often should he get those?

D. They should be taken TID until he gets better.

C. I understand Mr. An persistent illness has been caused by an infection. So does he need antibiotic?

D. He can also have antibiotic pills TID, but no more than 2 tablets per day. Preferably pc, after he takes
meal.

an unwanted baby. And you’re putting yourself at risk for STDs.

Patient: I know, I guess sometimes I just forget.

Doctor: Well, If you can’t keep your mind into it, you should use unrequired remembering contraceptive
for your wife like the shot.

Patient: Could you tell me more about the shot?

Doctor: Of course! The shot means we will inject to female body the amount of hormone for the same
effect as the implant and IUD.

Patient: Thanks for your advice. I would consider.

Doctor: An IM would work better. Second, Ms Sara can have painkiller if he asks for it, but not more than
3 tablets per day.

Nurse: Okay. Will he want to take that sublingually or P.O ?


Doctor: He wants to put it under his tongue.

Nurse: Why so ?

Doctor: Because he can't chew tablets.
