Ref.: Zoom Meeting, dtd. 01.09.2023 at 05:00 p.m. At 01:30 p.m. today, Hon'ble CM, Maharashtra expressed his displeasure regarding the lack of cleanliness observed during his surprise visits to various parts of Mumbai including Mazgaon, Bandra (East), Kalina-Santacruz and Andheri. Hon'ble CM observed that, the bylanes in these areas were filthy and garbage remained unatteneded. Also, the presence of illegal Hoardings and Banners in the city compromised with the beautification of the city. Hon'ble CM further remarked that he would make surprise visits in coming days and if the situation is not improved, strict action be taken on the defaulting officers. Taking serious cognizance of Hon’ble CM’s concern regarding lack of cleanliness in Mumbai, all A.C. (Wards) and Zonal DMC’s are hereby directed to comply with the following instructions. 1, Each A.C, (Ward) and Zonal DMC shall map his area and assign officers to maintain cleanliness in all areas, 24x7. 2. Any unattended garbage and debris, shall be removed within 24 hours and further plan for prevention of garbage and debris being unloaded at public places. 3. Use of Swachhata Doots and other SWM staff to communicate with the citizens shall be made. 4, All the public toilets shall be cleaned daily and sanitized 5 times a day. 5. Each A.C. (Ward) and Zonal DMC shall make field visits atleast 2 hours between 09:00 am and 11:00 am to assess the cleanliness on roads and in public toilets, 6. If cleanliness in any area or toilet is found to be unsatisfactory during the field visit, strict action shall be intiated against the concerned/ responsible officer. 7. Action for removal of unauthorised banners/hoardings shall be intiated from Saturday night (02.09.2023) and same shall be continued thereafter. 8. Each A.C. (Ward) and Zonal DMC shall file their periodical report to Addl.M.C. concemed, regarding the visits made and the corrective actions taken.
