• Stag - A man animal castrated late in life

characteristics have developed.
• Stud - Reproductive male for hire for breeding.
 Cattle Terminology
• Bull - Uncastrated male.
• Bullock - Male bovine castrated after
developing secondary physical characteristics
of a bull.
• Bob veal - Slaughter calves under 3 weeks of
age.
• Calf - Young one.
• Dogie - A motherless calf.
 Cattle Terminology
• Free Martin - A female born twin to a bull calf usually
sterile.
• Heifer - Female not had a calf yet.
• Heiferette - A heifer that has calued once, usually
Prematurely and then is fed for slaughter.
• Steer - Castrated male .
• Veal calves - Calves fed for early slaughter usually less
than 3 months old.
