Who is a UI designer?
A User Interface designer?

Focus: Primarily concerned with the visual aspects of a product or service, including the look
and feel of the user interface

Responsibilities: Designing the graphical elements, such as buttons, icons, and visual layouts,
that users interact with. This role involves creating a visually appealing

Who is a UX designer?
A User Experience designer?

Focus: Primarily concerned with the overall user experience, ensuring that a product or service
is intuitive, efficient, and enjoyable for users

Responsibilities: Conducting user research, creating user personas, designing user flows and
wireframes, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand user needs.

Who is a UI/UX designer?
A User Interface / User Experience designer? (combined role)

Focus: Combines both UX and UI responsibilities, often covering the end-to-end design
process from user research to visual design

Responsibilities: In a UX/UI designer role, one might be involved in tasks related to user
research, wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.

A Product designer?
Focus: Encompasses a broader scope beyond just UX and UI, often involving a more strategic
and cross-functional approach

Responsibilities: Product designers may be responsible for the entire product development
process, including defining the product strategy, conducting market research, collaborating
with various teams (such as engineering and marketing), and overseeing the design and
development of the product.

Do your research, decide on your preferred path (Product, UI, UX), find a specialization, and channel
your energy into it.
Find free resources online on YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Start working on problems, redesigning, and improving products to help you grow—practice
consistently.
Find a mentor/accountability partner to keep you in line with your goals.
Look for internships to be part of (paid/unpaid), collaborate on open source projects, and work with
developers and designers.
Join tech communities and attend tech events to build your network.
