"SpaceX"
Made by Akimova Julia К72-20
SpaceX is the world’s first private company to develop
rockets for space passenger transportation. It was founded
by Elon Musk, who is also closely related to PayPal and Tesla.
It is generally recognized as the most advanced spacecraft
development company (with the notable exception of NASA
and DARPA). The fact that NASA has contracted to deliver
astronauts to ISS with SpaceX, Boeing, and other partners
suggests that SpaceX has already been able to make a big
statement. On May 30-31, 2020, the company successfully
launched the Crew Dragon to the ISS.
The most notable achievements of SpaceX include:

Liquid-propelled launch vehicle (Falcon 1), which launched its payload into Earth orbit on 28 September
2008.
Dragon Spacecraft, successfully launched and returned to Earth (SpaceX COTS Demo Flight 1) - 8
December 2010[9]; first private ship docked to ISS (SpaceX COTS Demo Flight 2/3) - 25 May 2012.
Launch of the satellite (SES-8) into geosynchronous orbit - 3 December 2013.
The first ever [43] first-stage landing on Earth after the Earth orbit payload is made on 22 December
2015.
The first successful landing of the first stage of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle on the Autonomous Spaceport
Drone Ship platform - 8 April 2016.
The first launch and landing of the used stage of the Falcon 9 - 31 March 2017.
The first successful launch and landing of the used stages of the Falcon Heavy rocket was on 6 February
2018. It is now the most powerful of the present launch vehicles (capable of delivering up to 64 tons of
cargo into low Earth orbit).
For the first time in history, a private Crew Dragon spacecraft was successfully launched into orbit
with two NASA astronauts on board - May 30, 2020
The number of employees
has steadily increased from
160 in November 2005 to
more than 4,000 by July
2015; 6,000 in 2018. The
low number of employees
compared to other
companies that launch
missiles of this class is due
to the desire to minimize
the cost of launches. This,
along with the human
launch to Mars, is the main
objective of the company
In 2013, SpaceX’s $56.5 million offer for a single launch became the most profitable in the space industry.

In 2014, 9 of the 20 new commercial satellite missions were made by SpaceX.

In connection with the strengthening of SpaceX, the US company United Launch Alliance (producing Atlas and Delta missiles)
announced a large-scale restructuring aimed at halving the launch cost. In May 2015, the company declared bankruptcy if it could not
compete for commercial contracts in the face of declining government military orders.

The Japanese company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (producing H-II missiles) also announced plans to reduce the launch cost by
half.China Great Wall Industry Corp (manufacturing «Changzheng» missiles) has announced that it does not intend to cut prices
despite pressure from SpaceX (before SpaceX company was monopolistic in the segment of low-budget launches.

The head of the European company Arianespace (Arians) said that due to the pressure of SpaceX, the entire European space
industry is being restructured. In order to maintain its market position, the company was forced to reduce prices and request
subsidies from the State. By the end of 2014 SpaceX began to displace the company from a leading position in the market of
commercial launches.
Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees the rocket and space industry of Russia, said that he respects
the work of Ilon Musk, and called to make the launches of Russian spacecraft much cheaper -
as «competitors are on our heels».

According to the head of the State Corporation for Space Activities «Roskosmos» Igor
Komarov, SpaceX carries a certain threat to Roskosmos. As Komarov said, Roskosmos will
focus on reducing the cost of launches in order to compete with SpaceX and other private
companies.

On December 22, 2015, after the launch of 11 Orbcomm-G2 satellites, the first stage of
the Falcon 9 FT launch vehicle successfully landed at Landing Zone 1. on April 8, 2016,
as part of the SpaceX CRS mission8, the first stage of the Falcon 9 FT rocket successfully
landed on the sea platform «Of Course I Still Love You». On March 30, 2017, the same
stage, after maintenance, was relaunched as part of the SES-10 mission and again
successfully landed on the offshore platform. In total, in 2017-2018, 16 second-stage
launches were carried out.
