METHODOLOGY
This chapter presents the method of research, population sample size and sampling technique,
description of the respondents, research instrument, data gathering, and statistical treatment of
data.
SAMPLING
INSTRUMENTATION
Survey questionnaires are widely used in research studies as a means of collecting data from
participants. They offer a standardized approach by providing a set of predetermined questions
that all participants are required to answer. In this study, the researchers will employ survey
questionnaires as a principal tool. The questionnaires, crafted by the researchers, will be rooted
in the statement of the problem.
The questionnaire will be meticulously designed to investigate the influence of digital media on
the communication skills of industrial arts students. Respondents will evaluate the
questions/statements using the Likert Scale, thereby providing nuanced insights into their
perceptions and experiences.
Researchers use descriptive statistics to summarize and describe the main features of a
dataset.
There were one hundred (100) questionnaires given to the selected respondents to gather the
primary data. Then, these survey questionnaires collected and classified accordingly. The
answers of the respondents carefully reviewed, tallied through the given formula. The results of
the survey used to come up with valid conclusions and recommendations.
The study used the percentage, frequency distribution and weighted mean as statistical tools to
determine the barriers of the study. The formula for sum total of the frequency weight multiplied
by the assigned weight:
X=∑fx
___
N
Where:
f = the frequency of each item
x = the assigned weight
N = the total number of respondents
∑fx = the sum total of the frequency weight multiplied by the assigned weight.
