Synopsis:
This dissertation investigates the intricate interplay between media portrayal and public
perception of female film stars in the changing terrain of 21st-century Bollywood. The research
investigates how different media outlets develop narratives around these people through
interviews, news stories, and social media campaigns, as well as the impact of media exposure
on society attitudes on gender and identity .The major goal of this research is to gain detailed
insights into how media representations influence audience perceptions and society standards
through extensive data collecting and analysis. It raises important questions concerning the
evolution of celebrity identities and the impact of media portrayals on cultural norms. The
dissertation illuminates the various aspects that influence media portrayal and public perception
via case studies of renowned actresses such as Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut. This
thesis has implications for both academic research and practical applications in the Bollywood
industry. The research tries to gain a better understanding of media influence in Bollywood by
focusing on societal standards, industry pressures, and financial imperatives. The work uses a
combination of qualitative and quantitative research approaches, such as surveys and content
analysis, to investigate the mechanisms by which media portrayals impact audience views and
preconceptions about female cinema stars. The findings are expected to make an important
