O contexto para o estudo desses tópicos será a comunicação ao telefone.

Vocabulário básico sobre comunicação ao telefone:

To make a call/ to call = fazer uma ligação/ligar

/meica/

Here’s my number…. = aqui está meu número

The phone is ringing! = O telephone está tocando

Answer the phone/ Pick up the phone. = Atender o telephone.

Hang up the phone. = Desligar o telephone.

She hung up on me. = Ela desligou na minha cara.

Hello, this is Jonh (speaking)

Can I speak to Mr Vieira?

OBS: introdução aos verbos modais – Verbos modalizadores(conotam uma gradação diferente a pergunta)

Exemplos de verbos modais: Can, Could, May, Should, etc.

Hold the line, please. = Aguarde na linha, por favor

The line is busy! = A linha está ocupada!

You’re breaking up! = Está cortando!

I Lost my connection! = Minha ligação caiu!

Estudo da Letra “T” no inglês americano/canadense:

It’s a crazy class! Pay attencion!!!!

1) Entre dois sons vocálicos:

Ability, Computer, Water, Heater, Better, Matter, University.

OBS: Mesmo quando os sons forem ligados à letra “LO” ou “R”:

Battle, Bottle, Dirty, Forty, Thirty.

2) Depois da letra “N” o “T” é mudo:

Interview, Interstate, International, Wanted, Don’t know, Printed, Enter, Twenty.

3) “T”é mudo com a próxima sílaba com a “N”:

Curtain, Mountain, Fountain, Forgotten.

4) “T” at the end of the word: (Stopped T)

Hot, Hat, Mat, Lot, Rat, Foot, Want, Sit, Pot.

Vocabulário:

Pantry: despensa

Self: prateleira

Sink: pia

Faucet: torneira

Hold fan: exaustor

Curtains: cortinas

Blinds: persianas
