13. (a) Solve the equation cos 5 x +1=2 sin2 x for 0 0 ≤ x ≤ 1800. (5 marks)
(b) Given that f ( θ )=4 cosθ+ 5 sinθ .
(i) Express f ( θ )∈the form R sin ( θ+ β ) , where R is a constant and β an
acute angle.
(ii) Determine the maximum value of 2−f (θ) and the value of θ for
which it occurs.
