Various Reading materials (Students will bring reading materials)
Writing materials (pens, pencils, paper/notebook)

OBJECTIVE: Enhance reading comprehension and critical thinking

A. Pre skills through an intensive reading session.
Reading
Activities  Introduction and Warm Up
Ask students individually

Predict: Look at the title of the text. What do you think the text
will be about?
Activate Prior Knowledge: What do you already know about
this topic? How might this help you understand the text?
Set a Purpose: Why are you reading this text? What do you
hope to learn?

The teacher will process the student’s answers.

 Silent Reading
Allow the students to choose their most comfortable spot inside the
classroom and allocate time for students to read their chosen texts
B. During silently. Encourage active reading by annotating the texts with notes,
Reading questions, and highlights.
Activities
Note:
Teacher may decide what strategies he/she will use in reading the
text.

C. Post  Written Response

Reading Students will answer individually
Activities Summarize: In your own words summarize what the text was about. What
were the main ideas?
Evaluate: Did you enjoy the text? Did it make sense? Was it useful?
Apply: How can you use what you learned from this text in your own life?
