Give us the heart to love and be kind to
one another. Please watch over all our

In Jesus’ name. Amen)

(Checking of the attendance) ( Students will tell who’s absent for the

So how’s your day? Is it good so far? “It was great Ma’am!”

Okay that’s good, so let’s begin this with

a group activity! Are you ready? “Yes ma’am”

CULTURE

What is Culture? Culture is the way of life

of a group of people passed onto
generation to generation

So culture refers to the shared beliefs,

values, customs, traditions, behaviors,
symbols, and practices that characterize a
particular group of people or society. It
encompasses both tangible and intangible (Yes ma’am)
elements, including language, religion,
art, cuisine, social norms, rituals, music,
literature, and more. Understood?
EXAMPLES IN CULTURE (Beliefs and
Traditions Examples of Selections)

Weddings
The year/date of the wedding of siblings
should not be on the same year or it is
“SUKOB”.

Are you familiar with this belief? (Yes ma’am)

Can someone explain what is the meaning (Student will volunteer to explain: “My
of SUKOB. lola said that if you will be getting
married you should not be on the same
year/date of your siblings.”)

Very good! That’s correct SUKOB means

that you should not be on the same year or
date of your siblings in marriage

Funerals
When you go to funerals, you should not
head home, you should “PAG-PAG”.

Who wants to read and explain this belief? ( Students will volunteer to read and
explain: “When you go to funerals, you
should not head home, you should “PAG-
PAG”.The meaning of this according to
my parents that you should not head home
when you came from funeral because they
said that the soul of the dead will follow
you.”)

Very good! Do you all understand the (Yes ma’am)

example beliefs?

What is Environment? The natural world,

the human/social activity and the events.

So the environment refers to the sum total

of all external factors, conditions, and
influences that surround and affect an
organism or a system. It encompasses
both biotic (living) and abiotic (non-
living) components, including air, water,
soil, climate, plants, animals,
microorganisms, and human activities.
