1. How does the Philippine government address different local and national health issues and
concerns like HIV/AIDS cases and tobacco and alcohol related diseases?

The Philippine Government addresses different local and national health issues and concerns by
strengthening health systems, promote positive social norms and behaviors, and improve the
quality of primary healthcare. The government also uses initiatives like establishing healthcare
facilities and public health campaigns. One example can be HIV/AIDS, the government is educating
the people through awareness campaigns and providing vaccinations, free condoms, etc. as well as
providing free testing facilities to prevent more people from acquiring this disease. Now tobacco and
alcohol related diseases, the government implements policies such as very expensive taxes which
discourages people from these actions while generating income for other programs. The legal age
system was also made by the government to restrict minors from doing these vile activities.

2. Who do you think are the stakeholders or partners of the government in addressing health
problems? How can they help curb various health problems?

I think the stakeholders or partners of the government in addressing previous health problems are
organizations like WHO who operate internationally, Non-Government Organizations, Academy and
Research Universities, as well as society. All people want to address health problems and offer to
help other people who are having health problems. Additionally, hospitals, police stations, and fire
stations would also be included in this list since they are the main ones who must take care of the
people with health issues. These people play a crucial role in curbing various health problems and by
working together, this goal can be highly achievable. The organizations, international or national, can
provide financial support, technical support, health expertise, and they can conduct community
outreach and address specific health issues. The hospitals can use this financial support to invest in
more effective machines and tools to treat more people. While the universities can focus on
researching cures on for example, cancer. The media can also work with these organizations to
spread awareness about health issues and contribute to public health campaigns.

3. How can educating the youth help in developing a socially conscious and healthy individuals who
are aware of the various global health threats and concerns?

Educating the youth is integral in developing a socially conscious and healthy society. It allows young
individuals to be more aware of the health issues that they may risk acquiring like cancer,
tuberculosis, HIV, etc. It empowers them to take control of their health and participate in public
health campaigns. It fosters the youngsters’ critical thinking skills to distinguish between credible
information or misinformation.
