MUSIC 8 – 3rd Grading Keyboard Instrument - played using a keyboard, a row of levers which are

pressed by the fingers.

Musical Instrument - any device for producing a musical sound.


Percussion - This instrument can be played by striking with a stick, shaking
or scraping.

String - A musical instrument that can produce a vibrating sound by plucking


or using a bow. Wind - This instrument makes sounds by the vibration of air through blowing.
Electronic - This musical instrument produces or modifies sounds by MUSIC OF EAST ASIA
electric.
Arirang - A song that tells about the sad love story of a woman whose lover
has to travel far away. (Korea)
Mo Li Hua - A song that tells about the representation of the jasmine flower.
(China)
Sakura - A song that describes the beauty cherry blossoms. (Japan)
Japan - The country which is known as “The land of the rising sun”.
Korea - It is known as the “The land of the morning calm”

Volleyball
- team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by
a net.

- old name for volleyball
- a name derived from the game of badminton which he later
agreed to change to better reflect the nature of the sport.

1. Setter
- Runs the team's offense.
- Tries to make second contact with the ball and set it high in the
air for the attackers to get a good, strong hit.
- Line up on the right front or right back of court.
2. Libero
- Specialized defensive player whose job is to return spikes 3. Spiking 4. Blocking
and serves.
- Subs in for anyone in the back row and must remain in the
back row without rotating like the rest of the players.
3. Middle blocker (middle hitter)
- Primary blocker and decoy hitter.
- Plays in the middle, front row.
4. Outside hitter (power hitter)
- Most dependable hitters on the team that receive more
sets than other players.
- Line up on left side of the court on the front and back 5.Serving
row.

5. Opposite hitter (offside hitter)
- Defensive blocker and backup setter.
- Plays on the right side of the net on the front row.
Passing - Ability to pass the ball to teammate, which is required in almost all
players.
Setting - An act of pushing the ball forward through finger toss, which is a
synchronized springing of fingers.
Spiking – striking the ball with great force in a downward direction into the
opponent’s court.
Serving – putting the ball into play from the end line.
Blocking – defensive play by an opponents or opponents against the spike or
any other play near the net.

BASIC RULES OF THE GAME


- Six players in a volleyball team
- Rotate one position clockwise
- Three players at the net position can jump, spike or block near
the net.
- Allowed three touches or three hits before the ball crosses over
the net.
- Rally point system
- Matches are played best of five sets. The first four sets are
played to 25 points each, and the final set to 15 points.
