Internet 5-10 years ago

The third generation of the Web, dubbed the "Semantic Web," put a lot of effort into structuring the vast
amount of information that is readily available according to context and user demands. The location,
preferences, and other factors of the internet user were taken into account.

The advent of HTML5, which helped convert static webpages into legitimate computer programs that
could rival mobile apps, marked a true revolution for the internet in 2010. This advancement caused the
number of websites to soar in a matter of years, surpassing one billion by 2014. As a result, Web 3.0 got
more portable and strengthened the connection between the physical and virtual worlds in response to
the demands of an ever-growing mobile user base.

Internet Today

According to the website Live Stats, by the end of 2020, more than 4.79 billion people worldwide had
internet access. This means that, in only 10 years, the number of internet users across the planet
increased by 166 percent.

In the natural progression from Web 3.0 to Web 4.0, or the "Intelligent Web," this was the next stage.
Thanks to wireless communication, it made it possible for individuals and businesses to communicate in
real time, from anywhere in the real world to any location in the virtual world (like online video games).
As a result, the intelligent web fully utilized the ability to customize the internet, which was first made
possible by the semantic web, to address the significant obstacles related to privacy protection. The
advent of Web 4.0 also signaled the rise in artificial intelligence (AI) usage in chatbots, search engines,
and other systems that link online consumers to particular goods and services. Actually, AI is able to
recognize and customize messages, ads, and search results to each user's unique needs.

In short,

The degree of complexity and innovation that separates technology from the past from the present. The
printing press, the steam engine, and the wheel were examples of simpler tools and machinery that
made up earlier technology. Artificial intelligence, cellphones, nanotechnology, the internet, and other
extremely complex and networked systems are examples of how far technology has come in today's
world. Significant advancements in industry, healthcare, transportation, communication, and many other
facets of human life have resulted from this.
