How Can the Internet of Things (IoT) Improve Our Life?

Introduction

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a collection of interrelated computer equipment, mechanical and
digital devices, artifacts, animals or people with unique identifiers and the ability to transmit data
over a network without needing contact between humans and humans or between computers.
(Rouse, 2020)

I chose this topic from “Digital World” because I want to know more about technology. For
example you can see your heartbeat using a digital watch and also you can measure your
weight and see how much you lack protein, exercise, water and more.

Global Perspectives

It is possible to describe the Internet of Things as making things part of the Internet. Many
wonder, however, if such a challenge can be enabled by the existing Internet. Hundreds of
worldwide efforts to update the Internet are underway for this and other purposes.
Keywords-Internet of things, intelligent stuff, future internet, networking defined by software,
service-centrism data-centrism, ID splitting, protection, privacy, trust. (Marcos Alberti and Singh,
2013)

In terms of technology for the Internet of Things protection solution and its implementations. All
sales posted on the market are U.S. dollars in 2019 constant. The scope of this report includes
various technologies that are used in Internet of things security solutions. The business is also
divided based on the scale of the firms adopting Internet of Things security technologies.
(Internet of Things (IoT) Security: Technologies and Global Markets, 2020)

In addition, the business application area is divided into cars, healthcare, e-commerce and
retail, smart homes, electricity and infrastructure, manufacturing, government, and others. The
current global market offers stakeholders an opportunity, largely due to a rise in cloud-based
services and the increased usage of Internet of Things devices, especially in sectors such as
healthcare and manufacturing. In the Internet of things security technology industry, this report
highlights different kinds of protection, including device/endpoint security, network security,
application security, cloud security, email security, and web security. The market is also divided
by its main components, for example platforms, solutions and services.

In the services division, technical services and managed services are subdivided. Summary
prices for software, hardware and subscription services are the estimated and projected industry
revenue considered in this study.

Internet of Things security threats are increased and there are more cyber attacks as individuals
seek social isolation and rely more on technology. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic,
demand for Internet of Things security solutions is expected to increase and raise the market for
Internet of Things security technologies. After it is stored in the cloud, Internet of Things apps
use this data to generate information and intelligence to help make decisions. To simplify or to
become more energy-efficient, businesses may use the Internet of Things. It helps locate the
nearest parking space to a meeting in people's personal lives or identify a disease until it
becomes chronic.

National Perspectives

The Ministry of Communication and Knowledge Technology (KOMINFO) sees its position
evolving from being a regulator to assisting and accelerating the digital age of Indonesia. As an
accelerator, KOMINFO is rolling out the Indonesian Unicorns program, which is able to act as a
bridge so native startups can grow into new unicorns. (IoT Indonesia - Asia IoT Business
Platform, 2020)

Jakarta is functioning on multiple platforms to enhance business, innovation, and well-being of

voters. Health knowledge is being collected through apps and can be connected to the massive
system by 2020. The info is going to be wont to style and deliver social and health programs by
2022. The target is to integrate all Jakarta transit payment systems into one cashless system to
enhance urban quality and keep travel reasonable.

The planning board is formed from key Internet of Things stakeholders from the general public
and personal sectors and across the Internet of Things offer chain. The prestigious planning
board advises on the content, themes, objectives and speakers for the conference to confirm
content bestowed is extremely relevant and newest, giving steering into overall program
development.

Asia Internet of Things Business Platform could be a dynamic business program that helps you
perceive a lot regarding the enterprise Internet of Things market in Indonesia similarly because
of the wants and challenges of your prospective shoppers and partners. The Minister furthered
that there square measure five digital technologies elementary in implementing age four in
Indonesia. These technologies square measure the Internet of Things, increased reality and
video games (Augmented reality / Virtual reality), advanced artificial intelligence, and 3D
printing.

However, the main target currently ought to be, in line with him, on the Internet of Things, which
is what the young generation has to master. Internet of Things contains the networks of physical
devices, vehicles, managed appliances, and alternative things with electronic devices, software,
sensors, actuators, and property. Internet of Things devices square measure ready to connect
with the net and square measure capable of assembling and exchanging knowledge.

The Government is presently developing the Palapa Ring, which could be a thirty six, fibre optic
project in 440 cities in Indonesia. This can be worn out in order to supply high-speed net access
for the country in 2019. So as to successfully adapt to the changes caused by the Internet of
Things, The Minister of Communications and Information science Highlighted the importance of
Human Resource (HR) development.

The Government is unceasingly facilitating initiatives which will accelerate the standard of the
country’s human resources the government wants the involvement and cooperation of all
stakeholders coming back from the business, the world and also the community to create this
eminent. (Umali, 2018)

Personal Perspective

An unparalleled potential for personalized services is created by recent advances in the Internet
of Things technology. Consumers are able to provide their personal details at the risk of breach
of privacy to take advantage of this great opportunity. This paper explores variables influencing
the ability to provide privacy data in many Internet of things services: healthcare, smart home
and smart transport, based on the principle of privacy calculus. It is calculated that the proposed
model uses survey data obtained from 154 people who understand the idea of the Internet of
Things.

The findings show that when providing privacy data for a better personalized service, people do
not pay much attention to the perceived privacy risk. In healthcare facilities, however, where the
perceived risk of privacy is high, despite the lower expected benefit of incomplete
personalization, people are not willing to provide their personal information. In the context of
Internet of Things services, the study of privacy behavior offers implications of the tradeoff
decision between perceived risk of privacy and ability to provide personal information and
insight into it.

Possible Scenarios

It takes application, implementation and execution in the real world to fully understand the
Internet of Things. IEEE Internet of Things recently introduced a program to provide an
engaging forum for the Internet of Things community to engage with use cases, service
specifications, business models, and reference implementations that will be central to the
growth of a vibrant Internet of Things industry. This is a perfect opportunity for you to contribute
to the cause of the Internet of Things and get excellent exposure to your projects and ideas.

Possible Courses of Actions

This unique course offers an end-to-end understanding of the technology stack behind Internet
of Things technologies being introduced. Two very strong real-time examples of the Internet of
Things are seen at the beginning of the course. We will lead you through the step-by-step
thought process for Internet of Things solutions to be implemented. In developing the Internet of
Things solution, we will learn how to use these technologies. To clarify the real-time
understanding of how these technologies work together we'll take you to the AWS cluster. In
building Internet of Things applications, we will incorporate machine learning and demonstrate
the role of machine learning. (Free Internet Of Things Tutorial - Internet of things IoT- in Action
(The software stack), 2020)

Personal Response

We hear new forecasts every day on how the Internet of Things can change the globe and
transform our way of life. What you may not understand is that the way we respond to
emergencies and save lives has been changed by the Internet of Things.

With the rise of the Internet of Things, the advantages are being used by major companies and
government agencies alike. No exception is the first responders. The Internet of Things plays a
major role around the world in increasing the efficacy and reliability of emergency management
services, saving lives and making communities safer.

We developed an Internet of Things software solution at Jakarta that improves Internet of

Things devices to enhance the personal emergency response system for elderly care. For
instance, when a person presses the SOS button on an Internet of Things device or the device
senses a fall, our Internet of Things software provides the ability to receive real time warnings.
From a web-based user interface, the Internet of Things app offers the ability to find and monitor
the location of a person to enable an emergency response service to quickly find the patient
even when the patient is in an unknown location. This approach offers patient protection and
peace of mind for caregivers and family members, with assistance being a push button away.
Conclusion

Internet of Things devices and sensors are constrained by what they can do without cloud
software and data access. One example of the synergy generated by field-deployed equipment,
cloud-based applications, and data is the emergency response app. As a result of the Internet of
Things, there are even more ways in which communities are turned into smarter and safer
areas.
