𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐏𝐅𝐃) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 & 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 :

What is PFD :
-PFD is a schematic drawing of a process or utility unit used for developing a clear understanding of
the processing requirements.

-TPFD shows relevant physical and process data (identified with stream number), the main utilities,
the basic control elements and the main processing equipment:

PFD shall include :

-Major equipment, (items such as compressor auxiliaries are not normally shown, equipment
operating in the same service whether in parallel or series shall be shown as one unit, all spare
equipment shall be omitted)

-Main processing lines including utilities.

-Controls indicated by a simplified symbolic representation of control loops.

-Heat and Material Balance

-you can perform and generate M&H balances by process simulators such as Aspen HYSYS, Plus,
Unisim, pro II, AVEVA..etc

-heat and material balance may be submitted as a separate document or inside the file below the
PFD in a table.
