WOOL BEANIE HAT PATTERN

 This is a basic beanie hat pattern.
It can be jazzed up with different stitches, stripes
motifs, etc, as the knitter wants.

YOU WILL NEED

Yarn
Double knitting yarn.

Needles
3.25 mm needles

4 mm needles

1. Using double knitting yarn (50g is more than enough)
and 3.25 mm needles, cast on 106 stitches and work 9 rows in
k2, p2 rib.
2. Next row purl 12 purl 2tog, * purl 8 p2tog repeat from
*until last 12 stitches – purl 12.
3. Change to 4mm needles. Work in stocking stitch, knit 1 row purl 1 row,
until work measures 17 cm.
4. Next row k1, * k2tog k4 repeat from * until end of row.
Starting with purl row work 3 rows. Next row k1, *k2tog k3 repeat from
*until end of row Purl 1 row.
5. Next row k1,* k2tog k2 repeat from *until end of row Purl 1 row
6. Next row k1,* k2tog k1 repeat from *until end of row
Purl 1 row.
7. Next row k1,* k2tog repeat from *until end of row.
8. Next row p2tog until last stitch p1.
9. Break off yarn and thread through stitches on needle and fasten off.
Stitch up your hat.
