Operation manual

1. Operating principle of ultrasonic cleaner

The electronic generator generates electrical vibrations which are converted into ultrasound in the
piezoelectric transducer. Ultrasounds are sound waves with a frequency above 16 kHz, inaudible to the
human ear (different harmonic sounds can be heard during the operation of the ultrasonic cleaner). They
cause acoustic wind, radiation pressure and cavitation in the liquid. Cavitation consists in the formation
of very small vacuum bubbles in the liquid. Cavitations bubbles pulse and implode, which causes local
pressure of even several thousand atmospheres. In one cubic centimetre in 1 second, millions of shock
waves are produced, which tear off the surface the particles of dirt adhering to it. Acoustic wind causes
the liquid to mix. Ultrasounds go through metals and glass. Details with complex shapes, hard-to-reach
places, narrow gaps and holes with small diameters can only be well cleaned using ultrasound. So this is
the most effective cleaning technology. Increasing demands on surface cleanliness in industry and
medicine are causing changes in cleaning technology and the widespread use of ultrasonic equipment.

2. Application areas for ultrasonic cleaner ‘Ultron’

• In the printing industry for cleaning printing rollers, anilox tubes, cartridges and print heads.
• Washing laboratory glass - flasks, beakers, pipettes, capillaries, plates and slides for microscopic
preparations. A frequency of 40 kHz is recommended for cleaning laboratory glass.
• For cleaning surgical and dental instruments and dentures. Ultrasounds tear viruses and bacteria
apart.
• In laboratories for emulsions of unmixed liquids, fats, suspensions. Dispersion of solids in water,
homogenization of macromolecular compounds, degasification of solutions.
• In jewellery studios for cleaning products made: with polishing paste, from the remains of casting
masses, for cleaning dirty products, especially chains, bracelets. Only an ultrasonic cleaner will
wash out the dirt from the stone in a few seconds. If the eyelet is seated incorrectly, it may fall
out in the washer, which will reveal a seating error ( Do not use for cleaning of costume jewellery).
• In watchmaking studios for washing the watch mechanisms without dismantling. Washing in
petrol should be carried out in a closed jar inserted into washer. Ultrasounds go through glass and
metals.
• In precision mechanics plants for cleaning of small castings, moulds, drawing dies.
• In car repair shops for washing carburettors without complete disassembly. For cleaning of
carbon deposits, raids and dirt from parts and components.

3. Cleaning agent selection

Ultrasounds themselves, although they are very penetrating and have a lot of energy, do not wash in
water alone. A suitable water solution of the cleaning agent will moisten the surface and cause the
ultrasounds to remove the dirt without damaging the surface. The increasingly widespread use of
ultrasonic cleaning has led to the sale of various fluids. The use of special fluids will be most effective if
you follow the instructions for use and the recommendations of the manufacturer of the washer. The
selection of the cleaning solution depends on the type of contamination and the material of the object.
The same fluids are often used for ultrasonic cleaning as in traditional methods, but the concentration is
much lower.

7.3 Preparing machine for the work

1. Fill the bath by opening the filling valve (if provided) or pour the water directly into the bathtub
by hand through the loading hole.
2. Fill the bath with a suitable liquid, i. e. with a solution of detergent or water alone so that the
items to be washed will be completely immersed. Do not spill the liquid outside the tub.
Minimum liquid level due to heaters and transmitters - above the level sensor. Pour the liquid
directly into the bath through the loading hole.

The tub can be filled with washing concentrate directly into the chamber and mix there.

• NOTE: The unit is equipped with a level sensor and will not switch on if the bath liquid level
is below the sensor (blue float inside the bath). The red indicator light signals too low liquid
level.
• Before placing the parts in the bath, make sure that they do not cause the liquid to spill
outside the bath.
• The washing/rinsing efficiency decreases with the increase in the amount of items to be
cleaned.

WARRING! When using the ultrasonic cleaner, wear protective gloves against chemicals used for
washing and hot liquid. The temperature in the tubs can reach up to 80°C.

1. Place the parts in the basket. Then put the basket in the wash tub or put the roller on the
rollers.
2. Turn on the main power switch.
3. Set the desired temperature and wait for the bath to warm up (yellow indicator light goes out).
4. Activate the ultrasound for the required operating time by turning the knob to the right, or
activate continuous operation by turning the knob to the left. The washing time depends on
the amount of the parts to be cleaned. When the ultrasound is activated, it is indicated by a
green light.
5. If the bath is filled with fresh water, it must be degassed. For this purpose, the bath should be
heated to approx. 50-60˚C and activate the ultrasound for approx. 15-20 minutes before the
first wash.
6. After the washing, remove the washed parts using protective gloves. The bath can be used
repeatedly until the cleaning performance is noticeably reduced.

7.4 Daily use

• Before daily use it is recommended to drain the bottom sediment from the washing tank. Sludge
is accumulated in the vicinity of the drain valve. It is recommended to open the valve for a short
period of time in order to get rid of the accumulated sludge. This will allow you to use the same
bath for a longer time. Please remember to refill the water and cleaning concentrate according to
the amount of liquid discharged.
• Make sure that there are no leaks from the unit or visual damage, and if any defects are noted,
refrain from further work and report them to the relevant services.

Please consider the possibility of the loss of liquid while using the unit, because the hot liquid will
evaporate. Liquid loss will increase with the number of washing cycles (some liquid also remains on the
surface of the washed parts).

7.5 Turning the machine off

1. If the washer will not be used for any longer time, it is recommended to disconnect the power
cord.
2. Drain the bath from the tub and recycle liquid according to the safety data sheet.

9.5 Filter cartridge replacement

It is recommended to wait for the filtration to cool down before replacing the cartridge.

The bag filter must absolutely be replaced when the manometer on the filter cover starts to show values
in the red field. It is not recommended to clean and reuse the filter, as this may change its parameters,
especially gradation.

To replace the filter:

1. Make sure that the device is not currently working.
2. Disconnect the ultrasonic washer from the power supply and secure it against being switched on
by accident or unauthorized persons
3. Close the valve, the one before the filtration pump.
4. If the machine was being used, wait until it cools down.
5. Empty the filtration by opening the drain valve (see section 5.3), the vent valve must also be
opened.
6. After emptying the filtration, close the valves.

11. Operating notes and recommendations

1. Connect the unit to a grounded power outlet.
2. It is inadvisable for hands to come into contact with liquid during operation.
3. Do not turn on the machine without liquid. Flammable liquids and hydrocarbons must not be used.
4. The room where the washer will work must not be damp and wet.
5. The technical condition of the washer must not raise any objections.
6. Use the purest possible fluids.
7. Do not pour aggressive fluids for AISI 304/316 steel, as in combination with ultrasounds they can damage the
bath. Acid cleaning can be carried out in a closed glass vessel, placed in a water bath.
8. Add the detergent pre-dissolved in a bucket or pour in portions into a clean tank and stir there. A water-
soluble detergent can be added directly to the tank.
9. In the initial stage of operation of the ultrasonic cleaner, ultrasound is not very effective. A large amount of
gases are dispersed in fresh water, which suppress ultrasound. To degas the bath, it should be heated to a
temperature of 50-60˚C and turn on the ultrasound for about 15-25 minutes (the time depends on the device
capacity). The water must be degassed every time it is replaced.
10. It may happen that the ultrasonic cleaner couples acousticly with gassed water, which will result in a loud
unpleasant sound. This can be avoided by putting hangers or a basket in the ultrasonic cleaner during
degassing.
11. The parts should be hung on hangers, traverses or placed in a basket with as large meshes as possible to
ensure free access for fluid.
12. After loading the parts into the washer and before turning on the ultrasound, the lid must be closed.
13. The cleaning time depends on how dirty are the details.
14. The operation of the device may only be entrusted to persons who are familiar with the functioning of the
washer and who are aware of its improper use.
15. The device cannot be used for continuous operation. An intermittent washer operation is recommended. The
washer's work must not exceed 8 hours per day.
16. Clean the housing filters (if any). Pull the plastic housing with your hand, clean the filter with compressed air
and fold it back (see point 8.3).
17. The liquid can be regenerated by adding portions of detergent as it is consumed.
18. The use of new type chemicals should be approved by the equipment manufacturer.
19. Wear personal protective equipment as recommended in the safety data sheet.
20. In case of pouring the machine, turn off the main switch, then wipe it dry with a dry cloth and leave it
unplugged until it is dry.
21. Cleaning of equipment. The dirt that settles at the bottom accumulates around the valve. To remove them,
drain the bottom sediment into a collecting vessel before starting daily work. Daily sludge removal will prolong
the bath's operating time and affect the cleanliness of details. The sludge collected in a collecting vessel (e. g.
(barrel) is further segregated. The water from the surface layer can be reused. Dispose of the sludge according
to the detergent manufacturer's recommendations. The bath should not be significantly contaminated, as this
significantly reduces the quality of cleaning.
22. Do not allow bottom sediment to build up above the surface of ultrasonic panels. When changing the bath, it
is recommended to clean the flushing pump (applies to devices equipped with a pump).
23. Take care not to pollute the environment with used fluids, chemicals or oils and dispose of them in accordance
with the safety data sheet for these fluids
24. Despite the heating off, the bath can maintain or even increase its temperature. Ultrasonic transducers
release the heat.
