    In general, the overall trend in nutritional status of children under five in Polewali Mandar
    Regency from 2006 to 2008 shows that the majority of children were classified as having good
    nutrition status. In 2006, 77.44% of children had good nutrition status. This increased slightly to
    79.21% in 2007, and 83.4% in 2008. The percentage of children with poor nutrition status, including
    those classified as underweight and severely underweight, decreased over the three year period. In
    2006, 21.39% of children were underweight or severely underweight. This declined to 19.7% in 2007
    and 15.8% in 2008. The percentage of overweight children remained low and fairly constant at
    around 1% throughout the years observed. Overall, the data indicates an improving trend in the
    nutrition status of children under five in Polewali Mandar Regency during 2006 to 2008.
