NEGATION - DO

En inglés, para construir una oración negativa, se usa un verbo auxiliar y la partícula “not”
antes del verbo principal. El verbo auxiliar que más se usa para la negación es DO.

I like coffee. → I do not like coffee.

You live in Colombia. → You do not live in Colombia.

She goes to university. → She does not go to university.

He eats chocolate. → He does not eat chocolate.

It rains everyday. → It does not rain everyday.

We drink wine. → We do not drink wine.

You look happy. → You do not look happy.

They listen to music. → They do not listen to music.

En inglés, DO NOT y DOES NOT se pueden contraer en DON’T y DOESN’T.

Examples :

I do not like coffee. → I don’t like coffee.


You do not live in Colombia. → You don’t live in Colombia.
She does not go to university. → She doesn’t go to university.
He does not eat chocolate. → He doesn’t eat chocolate.
It does not rain everyday. → It doesn’t rain everyday.
We do not drink wine. → We don’t drink wine.
You do not look happy. → You don’t look happy.
They do not listen to music. → They don’t listen to music.
