ZEV – The revolutionary motor-protective relay for motor currents from 1–820 A

Operational readiness delay after tripping: 5 – 12 min (depending on the tripping class set) with thermistor
tripping at 5 K below response temperature
Contactors for normal and overload operation are designed to CLASS 10. The maximum rated operational current of the contactor must be reduced depending on the
CLASS setting on the ZEV so that the contactors are not thermally overloaded if the tripping times are relatively long. The rated operational current Ie of the contactors
can be calculated using the following derating factors:
ICLASS = ICLASS 10 = Ie ICLASS 15 = Ie 0.82 ICLASS 20 = Ie 0.71 ICLASS 25 = Ie 0.63 ICLASS 30 = Ie 0.58 ICLASS 35 = Ie 0.53 ICLASS 40 = Ie 0.5
With ZEV-XSW-25 to ZEV-XSW-145 ring-type sensors, the motor supply leads are passed through the apertures, one phase at a time. For motor currents of less than 1 A,
the motor supply leads have to be looped back through ZEV-XSW-25. The number of loops is governed by the rated motor current.
