1.1 Background of the study

Gymnastics is a sport science discipline that has an important place in the system of sport science.
Gymnastics and tumbling compressing some our most skills. Robert G , Wollough by (1977)
however the historical development of modern gymnastics, J Logs on (1979).there are different
factors that affecting teaching learning apparatus such as of enough equipment, Facilities, students
Background fitness level and motivation level. Williams G Morgan (1989)
Impact on the students motivation students personality interests, equipments and Facilities
gymnastics exercise with their reach variation of movement make them to be suitable for different
age group and level of capacity under development of sport science a lot of course decided and given
as basic and apparatus gymnastics independently. The Gymnastics course has more of practical work
conducted in gymnasium and some theoretical class. Apparatus Gymnastics from an important of
physical education in the University of sport Science department students encouraging the clearance
to develop the skills and according to their achieved by taking part in the Gymnastics such as
strength, flexibility, coordination, balance and etc.J Logs on (1979)

CHAPTER TWO
2 REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE
2.1 Historical background of Gymnastics
The Historical background of Gymnastics stresses back to ancient's people regarding. Nethons C "
Gymnastics and tumbling compressing of some of our most motor skills also include some of oldest
skills. Their beginning is some obscure, but can be placed at about 2006 BC.when Chinese develop a
few activities that resembled Gymnastics particular of medical type however factual development of
Gymnastics began in the early Greek and Roman period this history."

2.2 The Value of Gymnastics

The Historical development of educational Gymnastics was from 1940 to1950s period as one of the
invention, in the 1960s the materials and methods were classified and consider in 1979s the
emphasize has been theoretical and conceptual oriented. Its well know that, the numerous values are
oriented from Gymnastics to this regards, scholars, studied in different ways.William by (1927)
describe as follows:-
" The movements in Gymnastics activity are fundamental big muscle group and the arms, shoulders,
chest, and abdomen. Besides building strength, length and power, gymnastics contributed to other
factors of physical fitness such as agility, flexibility, coordination and balance ."
An individual when engaging in Gymnastics able to develop his /her physical, mental, social and
emotional aspects of personality concerning aesthetic values and mental development obtained from
Gymnastics. S Nethlon and Robert J (1977) states that:- in addition to physical condition Gymnastics
develops such as mental quantities as alertness, during precise one sprint second timing is necessary
in many of the students that cell for quick thinking such as character those treats as self confidence,
preferences, self discipline and development from Gymnastics activity and great pleasure is derived
from making out possible combination and routines .this develops in understanding of symmetry,
continuity, coordination, balance and times in the Gymnastics. This implies that Gymnastics
essential for all rounded development of students. Gymnastics activity should be given priority
because it provides the basic for learning and practicing more advanced skills and performances with
apparatus and special concentration should be have the establishment of good. Safety habits which
teaching gymnastics effective spotting should be give give deals the concentration for needed
success and prevent injury.

5
In generally giving proper assistance is the most teaching learning process to maintain interest and
enhance performance.

2.3 Teaching Apparatus Gymnastics

The teacher should concern with conditions safe base and maintain sense of apparatus in teaching
apparatus Gymnastics. Apparatus is capable being adapted to suitable variety abilities and presenting
progressively difficult changes.so that experiencing in individuals can choose the situations which
answer the problems set by the teacher is best suiting to their capabilities. E Mauldon and J Lesson
(1989). The teacher attention should be on the observations of space, speeds, relationship, tension
and energy. E Mauldon and Loss on (1979)

2.3.1 Factor's affect teaching learning apparatus Gymnastics

The affecting and teaching learning of apparatus Gymnastics process is successful achieved when
carried out conductive environmental. The teaching learning environmental is a component teachers
and condition under which teachers and students are working including availability of equipments.
The quality of education and learning achievement's depends on competence personality and
dedication and learning achievements gymnastics depends up ovaries of factors that the per one are
availability of equipments, facilities, students background and fitness laved, their motivation level etc
(Robert J.William(1927).
