It is my pleasure to recommend Miss Ioana Popescu for admission to study International Law at
your university. I have been teaching Ioana English for four years and I believe I came to know
her skills and capabilities very well. Ioana is in Humanities class with an intensive English
programme, which means she has been studying this language for four to five classes a week.
This is beyond the normal average of two to three classes a week for all the other students. And
this year, particularly, she is studying English for seven classes a week.

I would rank her in the top 2% of students that I have taught in the past five years in respect of
her writing ability and research skills. Overall, Ioana is highly intelligent and has good analytical
skills.

Her projects in class never failed to demonstrate her ability to come to a detailed understanding
each and every task and take them very seriously. She gave particularly interesting points of
view on the topics under discussion and showed both sensitivity and maturity when analyzing
matters a little bit further.

Her overall intelligence is also reflected in her grades for my course, which were by far the best
in the class. Ioana has excellent communication skills. Her written work is always both clear and
concise, as well as interesting to read. She demonstrated her oral articulateness in the discussion
sections that are an integral part of our classes.

Ioana is highly proficient in analyzing the problem situations under discussion. She always
explains her views very concisely and gives supporting arguments that are both clear and
persuasive. She also demonstrates good teamwork skills in group assignments.

At a personal level, Ioana is a well-disciplined, industrious student with a pleasant personality.

She went well beyond the course requirements in the quantity and quality of all her class
projects, putting in a lot of extra research and constantly seeking for my support.

Throughout our classes, Ioana demonstrated great perseverance and initiative. Not only has she
always been interested in and motivated to learn the material, but she also put great work into
assimilating it to her own experience and developing her own ideas about each topic that we
discussed.

Ioana is unquestionably an exceptional candidate to study Law. I strongly believe that she would
greatly benefit from the opportunities for intellectual development provided by a sustained
period of study in your University. She has proven herself to have the perseverance, initiative,
and intellectual creativity necessary to complete an advanced graduate degree.
