Topic 4. Travel and transport

Part 1. Describe an experience when you traveled by public transport

My first camping trip, etched deeply in my memory from my high school days, remains a
cherished experience that I am eager to share. It all began with the unwavering support of
my mother, who encouraged me to explore the great outdoors. Thus, I found myself
embarking on an exhilarating adventure to Dambri waterfall.

Departing from Ho Chi Minh City at the crack of dawn, our group eagerly boarded a bus,
brimming with excitement for the day ahead. During the journey, we engaged in various
activities, from lively introductions to spirited singing sessions, fostering bonds of
camaraderie and anticipation.

Arriving at our destination around noon, our spirits soared as we immersed ourselves in the
natural beauty surrounding Dambri waterfall. After a hearty lunch and the swift setup of our
tents, we wasted no time in venturing out to explore the magnificent falls, capturing every
moment with awe-inspiring photographs.

However, the true test of our mettle awaited us during the descent to the waterfall. Denied
vehicular access, we embarked on a challenging trek characterized by steep, rugged terrain.
Despite the physical strain and the inherent dangers, this experience proved to be a valuable
lesson in forestry, as we navigated through treacherous slopes and honed essential survival
skills.

Reflecting on this adventure, I am struck by the transformative power of nature and the
resilience it instills in us. Dambri's natural splendor, coupled with the forestry challenges we
encountered, left an indelible mark on my soul, shaping me in ways I never imagined.
Gratitude fills my heart for my mother's unwavering support and the invaluable lessons
learned during this remarkable journey.

In summary, my first camping expedition stands as a testament to the boundless beauty of

the natural world and the enduring spirit of adventure that resides within us all.

Part 2: Describe a trip that didn't go as you had planned.

My most recent trip to Thailand was an unforgettable solo adventure filled with cultural
immersion and breathtaking experiences. Arriving amidst a gentle shower of rain,
considered a good omen in Thai culture, I felt welcomed into a warm and inviting
atmosphere. Starting my journey in Pattaya, a vibrant coastal city, I was immediately
captivated by its energy and charm.

Exploring the famous floating market was a highlight of my time in Pattaya, where I indulged
in delicious Thai street food and immersed myself in the local culture. The intricately
designed temples dotted around the city left me in awe, their tranquil ambiance offering a
peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. A thrilling canoe ride along the beach added an
extra element of adventure to my exploration of Pattaya.

Continuing my journey to Bangkok, the bustling capital city, I was met with a whirlwind of
sights and sounds. Among the many unforgettable experiences, cruising along the Chao
Phraya river on a luxurious yacht stands out the most. With stunning views of the city skyline
and vibrant lights, accompanied by a delectable buffet and soothing jazz music, it was an
evening of pure bliss and relaxation.

Throughout my trip, I was deeply touched by the warm hospitality of the Thai people and
the rich spirituality embedded in every aspect of their culture. From serene temples to
bustling markets, Thailand offered a unique blend of tradition and modernity that left a
lasting impression on me.

As I reminisce about my time in Thailand, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching
experiences and unforgettable memories. Thailand has truly captured my heart, and I
eagerly look forward to my next visit to this captivating country.
