4. First-aid Measures

a. Inhalation:
• Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.
• Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.
b. Skin contact:
• Wash with plenty of soap and water.
• IF ON SKIN (or hair): Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water [or
shower].
• Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor.
c. Eye contact:
• Wash the eyes with clean water for at least several minutes (desirably 15 minutes or longer),
(Remove the contact lenses if possible.) and get medical attention by an eye specialist
immediately. During washing, fully open the eyelid with fingers and wash in such a way as to let
water reach to every corner of the eyeball and eyelid.
d. Ingestion:
• Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by
mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention immediately.

5. Fire Fighting Measures

a. Suitable extinguishing media:

• Small Fire: Chemical powder extinguisher, alcohol resistant foam fire extinguishing media,
carbon dioxide or water spray.
• Large Fire: Alcohol resistant foam fire extinguishing media, water spray or fog.
b. Unsuitable extinguishing media:
• Direct straight streams (may spread a fire)
c. Specific hazards of fire-fighting:
• Will be easily ignited by heat, sparks or flames.
• Containers may explode when heated. Fire will produce irritating, corrosive and/or toxic gases.
May polymerize explosively when heated or involved in a fire.
d. Specific extinguishing methods:
• Keep upwind of fire.
• Use of water spray at a large fire, when another fire extinguishing media may be inefficient.
NISSHOKU TECHNO FINE CHEMICAL CO., LTD., Jul.19, 2023, 4/12

• Fight fire from maximum distance or use unmanned hose holders or monitor nozzles. Cool
containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is out. For massive fire, use
unmanned hose holders or monitor nozzles; if this is impossible, withdraw from area and let fire
burn.
e. Special protective actions for fire-fighters:
• During fire fighting work, wear proper protective equipment.
• Structural firefighters’ protective clothing will only provide limited protection.

6. Accidental Release Measures

a. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency measures:

• Promptly remove possible ignition sources from the vicinity.
• Use personal protection recommended in Section 8. Isolate the hazard area deny entry to
unnecessary and unprotected personnel.
b. Environmental precautions:
• Do not flush to sewer or allow to enter waterways.
• Prevent scattering and spread by covering with antistatic sheet and the like.
c. Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
• Carefully shovel or sweep up spilled material and place in suitable container. Avoid generating
dust.
• Eliminate all ignition sources. Use explosion-proof equipment. Dust can be a fire or explosion
hazard. Vacuum or sweep material and place in a disposal container.

7. Handling and Storage

a. Handling:
• Technical measures:
- Do not breathe dust.
- The dust can be charged with static electricity. Suppress generation and accumulation of
dust as much as possible. Take countermeasures for static electricity removal (grounding
others). Wear antistatic clothes and antistatic shoes to prevent human body electrification.
- Use explosion-proof [electrical/ventilating/lighting] equipment.
- Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flame and other ignition sources. No
smoking.
- Do not handle the containers harshly in such a way as to make them tumbled, dropped,
given a shock, or dragged.
• Local/total ventilation:
- Use the ventilation equipment described in Section 8.
• Precautions for safe handling:
- Not especially.
• Contact avoidance:
- Refer to the information in section 10 (Stability and reactivity).
• Hygiene measures:
NISSHOKU TECHNO FINE CHEMICAL CO., LTD., Jul.19, 2023, 5/12

- During handling, be sure to wear proper protective equipment (refer to the section 8).
b. Storage:
• Conditions for safe storage:
- Store the containers in a well-ventilated dry cool dark place, keeping away from heat
sources like fire, boilers, and the like. Because this product has solidifying property and is
hygroscopic, avoid moistures like rain water.
• Safe packaging material:
- Store in tightly closed container.
