Suitable : SMALL FIRE: Use dry chemicals, CO2, water spray or foam.
LARGE FIRE: Use water spray or fog. Never direct a water jet into the
container in order to prevent any splashing of the product, which could cause
the fire to spread. Cool containing vessels with water jet in order to prevent
pressure build-up, autoignition or explosion.
Unusual fire/explosion Hazards : Emits toxic fumes when heated to decomposition. In a fire, the following can
be released: Bromine , bromine derivatives .
Hazardous thermal (de)composition : These products are carbon oxides (CO, CO2), Bromine, bromine derivatives.
products
Protection of fire-fighters : Fire fighters should wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus
(SCBA) and full turnout gear.
