6. Self-efficacy vs. self-confidence
7. Self-actualization by Abraham Maslow vs. Self-actualization by Carl Rogers
8. Attitude vs. Behavior
9. Soul vs. Spirit

Answers:

1. A good example of self-concept is me thinking that I am a good friend and a

daughter. I always value people around me that’s why I concluded that, with
treating them right, it feels good inside.

While the example of self-schema is when in the past, I remember how shy I am
singing in front of so many people and now I’m still building my confidence when it
comes to public singing and speaking too.

2. I would like me to be a teacher who will help her students reach their dreams
(ideal self) but in order to do that I should be first responsible of being a good
student now (ought self).

3. I always have a negative view of myself, specially when it comes to physical

appearance. The ‘insecurties’ of mine never leave but when I realize I’m hard to
myself, I start embracing me and accepting all of my flaws. Now, I am taking care
of my mental, emotional, and physical health. Each day waking up, I’m loving myself
more and with knowing my worth as a person, slowly I grow.

4. I am a catholic and was raised by my parents who both are religious type of
person. Our family have always been devoted in serving God and I was lucky I’m
part of that family. As a youth in our society, my role is definitely to be a good
example to the children who can see clearly my actions, how I behave and talk.

5. Growing up, I’m always conscious of how others see me. For example, in a crowd I
don’t want to stand out but I don’t want to been seen lonely too because there’s
this thinking that people might judge me. Now, I am aware of my negative
emotions and how to deal with it.

6. Earlier this week, I auditioned to be part of PUP Bagong Himig Serenata. I do

believe that I have the talent to achieve it so finger crossed. In terms of my self-
confidence, I remember the fight I had with my mother. We had different plans
where I should study in college. My mother wants me to go to the univeristy close
to us for it is convinient and my other siblings studied there too. I did I apply while
waiting for PUP’s result. Luckily, I got in and we argued about that. I am very
confident of my judgement in that time. I am decided to go to PUP and later on my
mother accept it. I trust my judgement and I know it is worth it.

7. Self-actualization by Abraham Maslow is achieved when physiological needs,

safety needs, love and belonging needs, esteem needs are already acquired and will
have the realization of self-fullfilment while by Carl Rogers it is achieved when the
ideal self is congruent to self-image.

8. When I am in a tough decision, I always view it as a challenge and act as strong

as I can be. I have this positive outlook in life, negativity will just give you
headache. The way I behave when facing hardships is that face it head on, if life is
hard, I will be hard as staone too.

9. We all have a soul that is our mind, emotions, and will. Like right now, I’m doing
this assignment with my own will and when it comes to spirit it is the connection we
have with God. Like, when going to Church, praying and serving Him.

6. For your own therapy, what are the exercises that you think that will make
your heart and spirit sing. Explain your answer specially the “why” and “how” of
your answer.

Answers:
1. Psychological Healing is a type of healing that invovles consoling and sharing. It
can be done by group, a one-on-one, by yourself or a psychiatrist. It aims to deepen
the understanding of a person about themselves, share their problems, embrace
their flaws and help their mind feel at ease.

2. Pain can be transformed into beauty with the following ways:

a. When you felt pain, it is natural to be hurt but once you fight with it, you
can be stronger that you think you are.

b. When you embrace your pain and sufferings, you can finally move on in
your life and be better.

c. After embracing it, you should now be able to love yourself more and know
your worth as a person.

d. Now that you finally transformed to another person, beautiful things will
happen too. You can start by bringing people happiness and taught them what you
have learned.

e. Last, remember all of the things you have experienced, all the sleepless
nights and tears. Those experiences made you as beautiful as you are now.
Remember that you can be vulnerable and you can learn from it.

“Pain demands to be felt,” my favorite quote from the book and movie, The Fault in
Our Stars. It demands to be felt so it can be mend. We are made beautiful, in and
out. We’re like flowers that blooms in a garden. Pain will fade away but beauty
stays.

3. It means that behind every happy person in the world, there is pain behind that’s
hiding. In every situation, in every people’s heart, in every decision we make there
is pain.

4. Yes, artists can help heal communities by creating arts that convey messages. It
can also help the community alive like the painting we see in every corner of the
streets. Once the community finally understand the message behind the arts, it
will come to their minds the things they have to do.

5. If I am an artist, I will help heal my community by creating an art that

sysmbolizes it. I will show them the great place we have and by that, youth will
encourage and engage too, to create an art that shows how we value our community.

6. For my own theraphy, the exercises I will make consist of reading, medidating,
singing and laughing. It is very important to me that I can understand my self and
by reading I can bond and help me feel at ease. In medidating, like once a week or
when I need it it will help me clear my mind and be back again with my goals.
Singing is my hobby. A day will not be complete, without me singing my lungs out. It
helps me to release the emotion and feelings I have. Last is laughing, by laughing I
can share the happiness I am feeling with others and also it is good for my health
too. I will always have this kind of one-on-one session with myself and let go all of
the burdens I have.
