Comments:
This mudra is from the Yoga Shastra. The chant is done as the Wane Guru
mantra was practiced at the time of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth master.
The mantra is in three sections and is repeated 16 times, so it is called
Doi Pad, meaning "48," 16 represents the eight hours of the day plus eight
hours of the night. Three, stands for tirkudi or treakuti, the third eye.
Wahe Guru is the only tirkudi mantra which can be chanted verbally. (It can
also be whispered or vibrated mentally in meditation.) On is a trikudi
mantra but it is not to be chanted verbally. It is a sound of the breath
vibrated at the brow point through the nose. (Siri Singh Sahib Ji
demonstrated. Very few people know this.)
