Features
This release includes the following system features.
Instructions for a process mix proof valve, multi-position device, and discrete multi states device have been added with the v35 firmware for the Process
Controller. Various existing PlantPAx instructions have also been enhanced to support animated SAMA diagrams. This provides a visual indication of active
logic for effective troubleshooting and commissioning.
Sequence Manager
Rockwell Automation has varied batch management functions designed to meet specific needs. This release adds the Sequence Manager capability to the
Process Controller to meet typical single unit batch manufacturing needs by reducing infrastructure cost and software complexity with integrated visualization
and reporting for intuitive operations and maintenance. It is integrated to function with the PlantPAx® Equipment Phase Object to help reduce time to market
of product mixes and create repeatable and controlled operations leveraging equipment capabilities.
PlantPAx 5.20 supports a newly introduced I/O platform called FLEX HA 5000. This platform initially supports universal I/O modules that allow for software
configurable inputs and outputs with analog, discrete, and HART communication per channel. Modules can also be configured in a simplex or duplex
arrangement to provide high availability with redundant network adapters, power, backplane, and I/O modules. Wiring is not disturbed when replacing a
module or base. Modules can be removed and inserted during runtime under power. Please read the FLEXHA 5000 I/O product documentation to
understand the limitations in the initial release of the FLEXHA 5000 I/O prior to deploying into service.
PlantPAx adds the capability to implement CIP Security Message Integrity within our architecture between application servers (Supervisory/HMI) and
controllers including configuration guidance. CIP Security Message Integrity helps prevent tampering or modification of system communications which helps
prevent snooping or data disclosure.
