Workshop Document
Topic: Anger Management
Time Limit: 30 minutes
Population: Student age range from 13 to 16 years age
No. of group members: 5 members
Objectives:
The workshop aims to help students understand and manage their anger effectively
through creative and interactive activities. By providing practical tools and strategies,
participants will learn to express their emotions in a healthy way, fostering a positive and
constructive environment.
Rationale
The rationale of anger management is the understanding that anger is a natural and
normal emotion, but how individuals express and manage that anger can significantly impact
their well-being and relationships. The goals of anger management include promoting self-
awareness, teaching constructive coping strategies, and enhancing interpersonal communication.
Here are some key rationales for engaging in anger management:
1. Health and Well-being
Physical Health
Unmanaged anger can contribute to stress-related health issues, such as high blood
pressure, cardiovascular problems, and compromised immune function. Learning to manage
anger can have positive effects on physical health.
Mental Health
Chronic and intense anger is associated with various mental health issues, including
anxiety and depression. Anger management helps individuals develop healthier emotional
responses, contributing to overall mental well-being.
2. Improved Relationships

Personal Relationships
Uncontrolled anger can strain relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners.
Anger management provides individuals with tools to express their feelings assertively and to
resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.
Professional Relationships
In the workplace, unmanaged anger can lead to strained interactions with colleagues,
supervisors, and clients. Anger management skills are valuable for maintaining positive and
productive professional relationships.
3. Enhanced Communication
Anger management involves improving communication skills, allowing individuals to
express their needs, concerns, and boundaries more effectively. This fosters clearer and more
empathetic communication, reducing misunderstandings and conflicts.
4. Prevention of Harmful Behaviors
Uncontrolled anger can lead to impulsive and harmful behaviors, both verbal and
physical. Anger management aims to prevent aggression, violence, and destructive actions by
teaching alternative ways to cope with and express anger.
5. Increased Self-Awareness
Anger management encourages individuals to reflect on the underlying causes and
triggers of their anger. This self-awareness is a crucial step in breaking patterns of unhealthy
anger expression.
6. Enhanced Decision-Making
Anger can cloud judgment and impair decision-making. By managing anger effectively,
individuals can approach situations with a clearer and more rational mindset, making better
decisions.
7. Positive Coping Strategies
Anger management introduces individuals to positive coping strategies, such as
relaxation techniques, problem-solving skills, and healthy outlets for emotional expression.
These strategies provide alternatives to destructive behaviors associated with uncontrolled anger.

ACTIVITIES
First an activity was done by giving an environment that students can share their feelings
openly. An activity was given to students to share their thoughts that why we come here and
what are their feelings when we enter the classroom. Those who participated were appreciated by
clapping. Then another activity was given to answer the question that anger is healthy process or
unhealthy process. Then the students got psychoeducation that anger is a normal process and a
part of our personality. But too much anger that effects our relationships and health is
problematic.
An icebreaker activity was done to encourage students to express and recognize
emotions, including anger, in a non-threatening and engaging way. It promoted communication
and empathy while setting a positive tone for an anger management session. This icebreaker
promotes a playful exploration of emotions, helping participants become more comfortable
discussing and expressing feelings, including anger, in a supportive environment.
Another activity was done that was questions from students that when they will get anger
and what are the reasons behind it and how they showed their anger.
Some of management techniques like deep breathing, counting were demonstrated by 2
of group members and we ask students to do these techniques by following our instruction and
student do the same.
Material:
The material that we used during our workshop was a chart paper on which we define
what is anger, what are the common thoughts behind anger, how the anger can be managed, an
anger cycle that explains the process of anger like first an incident happens, then some thoughts
come in my mind, then some physical changes began, and then a person react.
Outcome
Overall, the workshop was very good. All group members collected the feedback.
Students reported that anger is one of the common issue among us and these techniques help us
to manage our anger. Now from onward we will use these techniques. Mostly students liked the
deep breathing techniques, and reverse counting technique and start doing the favorite things like
coloring, makeup, listening songs. Students like the demonstration that our 2 group members
presented.
Limitations and Strengths:
There were lots of disruption during the workshop like teachers continuously come and
go from classroom and calling students randomly whether though they were informed about
workshop. And the strengths were that students actively participated in activities specially they
do acting in ice breaker activity was very good. All students engage in the workshop.
