LOGLINE
Antonia and her best friend face the sacrifices
that committing to a cause can bring after
joining a burgeoning student social movement
that confronts her with the haunting memories
of her family's past.
Haunted by recurring dreams of a burning farmhouse, Antonia dives
into her past, unearthing memories of her grandmother and a
connection to a small town in the countryside. As she delves deeper
into her roots, the present-day chaos mirrors the unraveling of her
family's history, marked by both joyful and painful memories.
Amidst warnings and growing tension on campus, Lucas comes to
her, urging Amara to be ready for the impending storm that will
unleash as the students plan a "movement" against the authorities.
Ignoring his advice, she goes to help him in between the chaos and
finds herself trapped in the midst of a violent confrontation on

DIRECTOR’S
STATEMENT
Based on the lives of many students across Latin America during
the XX century and even the past few decades, "Home" explores
friendship, sacrifice, commitment, and the indelible marks left by
political upheaval, weaving together personal and historical
narratives. I bear witness to those marks, as I've had co-workers
who have had to flee my country and classmates who have been
threatened, all because of activism and commitment to social
justice in Colombia. These sacrifices can only fall under the name
of vocación, a word in Spanish that means a summons or strong
inclination to a particular state or course of action, especially a
divine call or a dedication to serve others. I have always admired
that vocación, even though I'm not that brave.
This is then, a story about what we lose in the name of the cause
we believe in and the things we are passionate about. This is the
story of the people who have lost their homes while trying to build
one for others.

A little eccentric.
