Subject : Encroachment of Pavement in Nehru Nagar.
Dear Sir
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to draw the kind attention of the
authorities concerned towards the encroachment of pavement in the Nehru Nagar market area.
Unauthorized parking and encroachments on the road and by lanes have reached alarming levels in
the last few months Cabs, vans, matadors are parked on the main road and by lanes in every nook
and cranny of Nehru Nagar. This has become the biggest nuisance to the residents. They cannot take
out their vehicles due to vehicle parked on both sides. A residential house has been let out to a
transport company beside the supermarket. It has become a big nuisance, as transport vehicles are
parked everywhere. The situation is worsening day by day. This needs immediate attention of
authorities concerned.
Thanking You
Yours sincerely

Subject : Expressing concern over the unauthorised occupation of the park.
Sir
Through the thought-provoking columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention
of the concerned authorities towards the issue of the unauthorised occupation of the only
park/garden developed for the general public of our locality by the local self-styled `Netas'. They use
it for commercial and political activities. They hold small functions and parties here and the children
of the locality are not allowed to enter the park. Now and then, they invite one politician or the
other and hold functions just to keep the authorities and politicians happy. In one corner of the park,
they have erected a pucca room as well. If anybody raises voice against this malpractice, the
musclemen of these `Netas' silence them.
Our locality is a concrete jungle and this public park is the only place to breathe in fresh air. But the
unauthorized occupation of this open space has deprived the people of taking a stroll or even sitting
in the park. Moreover, the musclemen of the `Netas' remain in the park all the time and this keeps
the women and children away. The senior citizens are also fed up with the situation but are helpless.
Our many complaints to the local police and the authorities have fallen on deaf ears. Through your
column, I hope to address my grievance to the civil authorities and compel them to initiate proper
action to restore the park to the residents of the locality.
Yours faithfully
Shagun Kapoor

(A) Causes of Worldwide Land Degradation
When the fertility and quality of soil is adversely affected, it is called degradation. The modern
agricultural practises, excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides has adversely affected the soil. The
farmland is degraded in the world today for many reasons. Deforestation is one of them. It is taking
place at a faster rate due to increasing demands of timber, fuel and forest products. Overgrazing is
another reason for the poor quality of soil. It results into reduced growth of vegetation, soil erosion,
and degradation of land due to cattle movement. The pie chart shows that there are four main
causes of farmland becoming degraded in the world today. Globally, 65% of degradation is caused by
too much animal grazing and tree clearance, constituting 35% and 30% respectively. A further 28%
of global degradation is due to over-cultivation of crops. Other causes account for only 7%
collectively.

There are many scams that are not included in the public eye but have impacted a lot. They are
known as Corruption. Corruption is an act of treachery that has rarely left anyone or any place.
Demonetization means make India corruption free. From Hospitals to corporations and
governments, nothing and no one is immune from People are suffering with the corruption.
Corruption starts from the higher levels and moves down to the lower levels rapidly, forming an
atmosphere of less hard work and cheated results. There are even proofs that politicians were
provided resources by drug lords and smugglers, and when they or their existence is threatened,
immediate actions are taken against them mostly resulting in death. Corruption stops them from
degrading influence. However, Corruption cannot prevent the degradation of their morals or values,
and it increases the same. None of us can even imagine the amount of money that goes into their
accounts for personal accumulations. Corruption is now a bug that is insidious inside every
Department and arena of the government. Corruption has now crippled our economy, and our
functions have gone haywire due to it.“Government has taken measures for the corruption. They
have introduced cashless system to stop corruption which is also very safe mode for transaction.

In this poem the poet Whitman compares man to animals. He finds that man lacks many
virtues that animals have. The poet desires to live among the animals because they are calm
and self confident. They are well contented. They do not sweat and complain about their
condition like human beings. They do not possess the mania or possessing things. No
animals has to bow to another of their kind. They all are equal and remain satisfied. The poet
has a deep desire to learn from the animals. They do not have any kind of falsehood. The
poet is much surprised at their quality. He wants to learn them though he had dropped them
carelessly.

This lesson tells that the Buddha teaches the Gotami in the chapter and lives of mortals in
the world. This includes night way for living with rituals and thus it denotes changes in the
ultimate truth. Kisa Gotami was devastated by the death of her only son and wandered door
to door seeking help. Someone directed her to Sakyamuni, the Gautam Buddha, who asked
her to bring a handful of mustard seeds. This raised a hope in Gotami's heart that her son
could be revived. But the condition imposed by Sakyamuni was that seeds should be from a
house where people had not lose a loved one to death. Gotami's futile truth that sorrows are
part and parcel of life and one can attain peace only after acceptance. The Buddha says that
everything in this world is subject to death. He further understand. According to Lord
Buddha, feelings of grief and sorrow only increases man's pain and suffering thus,
deteriorating his health. Therefore, a wise person fully aware about nature's functioning must
not grieve at bound to happen and only then he can be happy and blessed.

Matilda herself was responsible for her own sorrows because of her obsession with the luxuries of
high class society. She had always longed to wear elegant, stylish and dainty clothes and jewellery.
Unfortunately, she had been married to a clerk who could not afford all these things. Her obsession
and love for trinkets brought her sorrow which she could have avoided. The fate or Providence
taught her a lesson for her flaw. Her husband received invitation to the ball; she became abnormally
excited about it. She went beyond her means to make arrangements for herself for the ball. She
spent excessively on her dress. And for the jewellery, she thought of borrowing Madame Forestier's
necklace. Unfortunately, the borrowed necklace was lost at the party. She and her husband had to
face ten years' grueling headships to pay for the replacement of the lost necklace. After ten years
she came to know from Madame Forestier that it was just an artificial necklace. If Mrs. Loisel
(Matilda) had not gone beyond her means to attend the ball, she would not have faced all those
hardships. If she had not been so much obsessed about trinkets and gimmicks of life, she would have
been far more contented.
