1. What is consumer behavior?

It is primarily concerned with us, consumer psychology, motivations, and behavior
while researching and purchasing, as well as how we select and feel about various
choices.

2. List all the factors that can influence your consumer behavior

The 5 major factor that can influence consumer’s behavior are..

a) Psychological Factors- Consumer motivation, perception, and especially attitude and

beliefs are difficult to assess, but they have significant power to affect a purchase choice.
b) Social Factors- Some of the social determinants include our family. We might build our
preferences as children by observing our parents buy things and continuing to buy the
same products even when we became an adult. In general, all members of the reference
group have similar purchasing habits and influence one another.
c) Cultural Factors- When a person originates from a certain community, the culture
associated with that community has a strong influence on his or her conduct.
d) Personal Factors- Personal factors such as age, income, occupation, and lifestyle are
varied from person to person, resulting in differing views and consumer behavior.
e) Economic Factors- Consumer purchasing habits and decisions are heavily influenced by a
country's or markets economic state. Personal income, family income, consumer credit,
as well as consumer’s saving are some of the economic factors.

Indebtedness- having debt will cause a decrease in the ability to consume because you have to
pay the creditor. This will reduce his/her money to buy services or products.

Demonstration effect-On numerous social media sites, users replicate and consume what they
see, hear, and watch. As a result of this, they are more likely to consume things that their idols
have promoted, resulting in an increase in the consumption of a product or service.

5. Give practical tips and advises that could be helpful to a person improve his/her way of
consuming.

My practical tips and advises to improve their way of consuming is first think carefully about the
item you are buying to see if it is valuable and can be helpful to us. Invest in the products that
can last for a long time. They should learn to save money for expensive item or service they want
to buy.

Assignment

1. Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence Theory.

He developed a list of seven intelligences based on biological and cultural study. This
new perspective on intelligence is very different from the traditional one.
Gardner defines intelligence as "the capacity to solve problems or to fashion products that
are valued in one or more cultural setting" (Gardner & Hatch, 1989).

Gardner defines are:

Logical-Mathematical Intelligence--consists of the ability to detect patterns, reason

deductively and think logically. This intelligence is most often associated with scientific
and mathematical thinking.

Linguistic Intelligence--involves having a mastery of language. This intelligence includes

the ability to effectively manipulate language to express oneself rhetorically or poetically.
It also allows one to use language as a means to remember information.

Spatial Intelligence--gives one the ability to manipulate and create mental images in order
to solve problems. This intelligence is not limited to visual domains--Gardner notes that

spatial intelligence is also formed in blind children.

Musical Intelligence--encompasses the capability to recognize and compose musical

pitches, tones, and rhythms. (Auditory functions are required for a person to develop this
intelligence in relation to pitch and tone, but it is not needed for the knowledge of
rhythm.)
Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence--is the ability to use one's mental abilities to coordinate
one's own bodily movements. This intelligence challenges the popular belief that mental
and physical activity are unrelated.
The Personal Intelligences--includes interpersonal feelings and intentions of others--and
intrapersonal intelligence--the ability to understand one's own feelings and
motivations. These two intelligences are separate from each other. Nevertheless, because
of their close association in most cultures, they are often linked together.Although the
intelligences are anatomically separated from each other,
Gardner claims that the seven intelligences very rarely operate independently. Rather, the
intelligences are used concurrently and typically complement each other as individuals
develop skills or solve problems.
For example, a dancer can excel in his art only if he has 1) strong musical intelligence to
understand the rhythm and variations of the music, 2) interpersonal intelligence to
understand how he can inspire or emotionally move his audience through his movements,
as well as 3) bodily-kinesthetic intelligence to provide him with the agility and
coordination to complete the movements successfully.
2. Robert Sternberg’s Mental Self-Government Theory
3. Give steps on how one can maintain his/her cognitive function.

Differentiate attention and memory.
