1 Inspect the harness.
Before you put on the harness, make
sure it is in good condition and free of
any damage. Check for tears, loose
stitching, or broken buckles. If you find
any damage, do not use the harness.

2 Shake out the harness.
Hold the harness by the dorsal D-ring
and gently shake it to loosen the straps.
This will make it easier to put on the
harness.

3 Undo the buckles

4 Put on the harness like a
jacket
Put the harness on over your head and

5 Connect the leg straps.

loops and fasten the buckles. The leg
straps should be snug, but not too tight.
You should be able to fit two fingers
between the straps and your leg.

6 Connect the chest strap
The chest strap should be located at the
center of your chest. Fasten the buckle
and adjust the strap so that it is snug, but
not too tight. You should be able to
breathe comfortably.

7 Adjust the straps.
Once the harness is on, stand up straight
and adjust the straps so that they are
snug, but not too tight. You should be
able to move your arms and legs freely
without the harness restricting your
movement.

8 Check the fit.
Have a friend or coworker check the fit
of the harness. The harness should not
be too loose or too tight. It should be
snug enough that it will not move
around when you move, but not so tight
that it is uncomfortable.

9 Test the harness.
Once the harness is properly fitted, test it
by leaning back slightly. The harness
should catch you and prevent you from
falling.
