Do you like watch films?

I am a massive movie lover, and I binge watch shows on Netflix all the time. If there is a
movie that's got all the media hype, I'm also jumping on the bandwagon.

Massive movie lover: Someone who has a strong passion for movies.
Binge watch: To watch multiple episodes or seasons of a TV series in one sitting.
The media hype: The intense attention and excitement generated by the media.
Jump on the bandwagon: To join or participate in something that is currently
popular or trending.

What kind of movies do you like best?

I like movies with an interesting storyline and great acting. I also like dialogue-driven
movies such as 12 Angry Men or Dinner with Andre, where two people sit and talk.
Such movies give you a food for thought.

Interesting storyline: A plot that captures your attention and engages you.
Great acting: Exceptional performances by the actors in the film.
Dialogue-driven: Movies that primarily focus on conversations and discussions
among the characters.
A food for thought: Something that stimulates deep thinking or contemplation.

Do you prefer to watch films at the cinema or at home?

Well unless the movie is the talk of the age, I am definitely watching it at home. I can lie
on my couch and pause the movie at any time I want to go to the kitchen to bring
something to eat. But that is not the case when you are watching it on a big screen with
hundred other people.

The talk of the age: A movie that is widely discussed and popular at the moment.
That is not the case with: Refers to a different situation or circumstance compared
to the one mentioned earlier.
Who is your favorite film star?
I have quite a few actually but I am going to say Robin Williams. He was just such a
massive part of my childhood and teenage years. For me he'll always be the genie from
Aladdin. He was outstanding in Bicentennial Man, Flubber, Hook, RV, Jumanji and a
whole host of others. I just loved how animated and wacky he was. He didn't take
himself seriously and he just gave so much joy to so many people.

Outstanding: Exceptional or remarkably good.

Whole host of others: Refers to many more examples or a wide variety of other
movies.
Animated and wacky: Energetic and eccentric in his performances.
Didn't take himself seriously: Had a sense of humor about himself and didn't
appear overly self-important.
Gave so much joy: Brought happiness and delight to many people through his work.

Would you like to be a film star?

You know I've often thought about this. I love the idea of it. You know, how cool would it
be to play a part like James Bond or Rambo, but in reality I think acting is a tough job
and I'm not entirely sure it's worth it. You certainly kiss your privacy goodbye. The
media these days are relentless. I think it would make me go mad honestly. And
something I've hought about as I've gotten older is that actors would have to be away a
lot of the time from their families and their homes. I'm a creature of habit so I'd really
struggle with that. So no, I think there are a hundred other jobs I'd rather do before
being a film star.

Play a part: Act a role or character in a movie or play.

A tough job: A challenging and demanding profession.
Relentless: Persistent and unforgiving, especially when referring to the media's
scrutiny.
Make me go mad: Cause me to become mentally distressed or overwhelmed.
A creature of habit: Someone who prefers routine and finds it difficult to adapt to
change or frequent travel.
Have you ever met a film star in person?
Never, some of my friends have, I'm surprised I haven't bumped into a single one. The
closest I got to a film star was a youtuber who makes filmmaking videos, but that's
about it.

Bump into: Accidentally encounter or meet someone unexpectedly.

That's about it: Indicates that there's nothing more to add or mention on the topi

Are film stars popular in your country?

Of course. People really glamourize film stars. I know that some of my friends
romanticize their favorite actors. I personally focus more on interesting people with great
minds like Paul Graham.

Glamorize: To idealize or present someone or something as more glamorous or

exciting than they really are.
Romanticize: To view or depict something in an overly idealized or romantic way.
