Abstract— This comprehensive review examines the barriers and challenges hindering the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs)
in India and explores the optimization potential through vehicle-to-grid (V2G) integration. The study highlights key obstacles,
including infrastructure limitations, range anxiety, high initial costs, battery technology, and consumer awareness. Additionally,
it investigates the opportunities presented by V2G systems in terms of grid integration, demand response, renewable energy in-
tegration, and vehicle-to-home/business applications. The review emphasizes the need for collaboration among policymakers,
industry players, and researchers to overcome these barriers and promote a sustainable and electric mobility future in India.

Index Terms— Renewable energy integration, Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), Vehicle-to-Business (V2B), Barriers, Challenges
