Tremors in The Mine
A small gold mining town, who's mine had been drying up for a
decade and has fallen out of the king's interest.
A new vein of gold was found recently and was kept a secret as this
has happened before only for it to dry up rather quickly. The people
don't want the backlash for 'gold fever' like last time.
The town is at the base of the mountain range alongside a winding
river. The founders named their settlement Yellow River as the
stream used to shine with the gold covering the bottom, that had
been washed down from the mountain.
There is a mountain pass that is only assessable to those on foot
or sure-footed horses. Two medium individuals cannot walk side by
side on this trail.

Timeline-
You find yourselves traveling down a long dirt path, as you travel further
trees give way to bushes and eventually to dry shrubbery. The
landscape becoming rock, dotted with large boulders of various sizes
and shapes the higher you go it gets colder. You met your travel
companions at the crossroad on the main trading route; all deciding to
travel the less wondered pass as you made your way to Krona’s peak in
the iron root mountains. The main road worked its way around the
mountain and took around 3 weeks, where as the mountain pass would
cut 14 days off your journey. The mountain pass is only assessable on
foot and those with carts had no choice but to go the long way.
Do you say anything to eachother?
After a day’s walk to come within sight of the town of Yellowriver. Approaching the streets
are empty, the shops windows are shuttered and the closed sign are hung. It is silent. The
main road thru town has a blacksmith and a stable/trading post, a bank further on. The town
square has the general store, a jail and the Inn(nightingale). The rest of the building seem to
be homes. They look sturdy but rustic and wind worn.
What do You do? Perception DC10 to hear faint music on the air
Music leads to the general store, a cart is outside empty. Inside a groups sits around having
lunch while a woman plays on her harp. DC10 they notice party, unless stealth'd. They tell
party that the are packing up to leave town, as the miners have all left and there is no
revenue left.
Ask party to check out the mine, offer gold nuggets in exchange. The peace keeper or cleric
but only one of them, as to not leave the town empty.
Ilene mentions that shes holding supplies for old fred who should have come to pick them up
yesterday but never showed. Shes worried that something happened to him and doesn’t
want to leave yet in case he shows up.
Ilene has healing potions sell to the traders 50 gp each DC 18 persuasion check to give
them over
Outside - small clearing, rail tracks with mine crats outside, abandoned tools
