Title:

''Use and Effectiveness of ICT in the ELT Classroom''

Introduction:

Information includes human thoughts, emotions, experiences, logic, thinking, tendencies and
descriptions. Communication is the act of exchanging that information. Technology is a way of
communicating information. The process of exchanging ideas, information, messages or facts
between two or more people is called communication technology. It is playing an important
role in the ELT classroom, including the expansion of educational opportunities, the
improvement of educational quality, and the sustainability of teaching through effective
teaching, based on new knowledge. ICT is a major area of benefit in the development of
educational quality in Nepal. There is a need for its use and application in ELT classroom as well.
In today's modern times, it seems necessary to learn the skills of ELT classroom to make it more
effective by setting a simple and comfortable environment for both learning and teaching.
Therefore, it is my belief that the use of ICT can make the ELT classroom more effective and
make learning more useful for life.

Presentation:

Conceptually in the context of Nepal, information and communication technology has been
introduced by early scholars since the 1980s. According to the latest statistics of the
Telecommunication Authority of Nepal, 44.11% of the total population of Nepal has access to
the Internet. On the other hand day by day internet users can be found increasing at a rate of
more than 10%. In Nepal, in 2028, the National computer center started providing training in
this regard, and from 2049, computer- related teaching was started in school level education.
