A Man Called Otto is latest Hollywood adaptation of a book written by Swedish author Fredrik Backman.

This
drama had its’ premiere at the beginning of this year and was well-reviewed by the critics. A Man Called Otto
tells the story of Otto Anderson a cranky widower who no longer sees purpose in his life following the loss of his
wife. He struggles with loneliness, suicidal thoughts and grief. Otto is ready to end it all, but his plans are
interrupted when a lively young family moves in next door. An unexpected friendship develops between them
which turns Otto’s life around. THIS is a heartwarming film that covers many important and serious life issues in
an amusing way. Although the plot is quite formulaic, the film is still gripping thanks to the star-studded cast and
their phenomenal acting skills. Tom Hanks deserves special recognition as he perfectly portrayed Otto’s
character. The camera operators also did a great job- the film is beautifully shot. ALL in all, A Man Called Otto
is a moving film with many hilarious moments. It’s worth watching especially when you’re feeling down. I can’t
recommend it enough and have no doubt that you will fall in love with it as much as I did. You won’t be
disappointed.
